Interesting thread. subscribed.
Btw i think the complications associated to the general servicing of the new car whilst being a PITA in comparison to outgoing models is still way better than other performance marques e.g.: ferrari, where consumables like timing belts etc require complete removal of engine/transmission.....although that said changing plugs on a turbo isn't exactly a job for the fainthearted or a cheap exercise. So perhaps on that note the atmo Porsche still has some latitude and some ways to go before being classified as an expensive maintenance nightmare along the same vein as certain other brands IYKWIM. Plus the way the car comes apart so easily is also relatively acceptable. Just saying... Lets not put the boot in too far just yet.

Although this procedure to access air filters may look a bit daunting at first, I don't think its actualy that difficult. The 997 rear bumper cover comes off in about 15 minutes, tail lights and all. I would imagine the 991 cover is similar design or maybe designed for even simpler removal.
Porsches always had these 'quirks' when it came to maintenance items. After having to take off rear wheel and wheel well liners just to reach the tank oil filter on the 993, this 991 air filter access is in the similar form . . .

Hehe. it's a bad reference. Go sit in one. They are award winning interiors. i feel ya though, the gray stripped interior pics don't do it justice. Check out the full leather black pic below:

Really!?! Ford could only wish to make an interior as nice as the 991.

I have to also disagree. Although I'll agree it's very Panamera-ish....so what? The Panamera interior (and thus the new 991) is gorgeous! It's comfortable, the seats are great, and everything is witin the proper reach. I also love how the higher center console creates a "****pit" feeling. Overall, I think it's a win.

I have a Ford, a Shelby GT500, and the interior quality is crap compared to the Porsche. The fit and finish is comical when you compare the two, and the Shelby is Fords top quality Mustang product!
Thats one of the reasons im selling the GT500 and getting a 911. Well...one of the reasons!
