Thanks for the nice words guys!
Testing new tires
Going to stickier tires makes you faster but you may be missing some of the learning that you would have if you stay longer on street tires. That alone made me feel like going back to street tires this time and re-assess my skills.

But then I am kind of a dick.

PS. SCCA Majors are at Road Atlanta this weekend if you get a chance to swing by. I am not there but it is always a good show. 59 Miatas!

Truth is we often have had guys asking us (=991 drivers) if our cars were stock or not. We did not mean to be a dick, but the car is that good

Pictures galore...
Just got pics from Road Atlanta a few weeks ago. I am so narcissist that I am posting a whole bunch of them. Sorry for those of you who will suffer an indigestion

iPhone 5S wallpapers
I created the following 3 wallpapers for my own use from pictures originally released by Porsche. Feel free to download and use them if you like.
They are in iOS7 size allowing the parallax effect on the iPhone (744x1392).

New rubber
Got Yoko AD08R installed yesterday on my track rims (255/35-19 front and 305/30-19 rear). I'll give it a try at Barber MSP this week end.
After a few miles on the road, they are definitely more noisy and less smooth than the Michelin PSS. They also seem to be stiffer, especially in rapid sharp turns -as much as I could check on the street -, which is a good thing. Curious to see how they perform when they run warmer through an entire track session.
More to follow soon.

Isn't this a downgrade from the R888s you used to run? The biggest issue I have with non-R comp is that they can't hold on enough in braking. One issue I am having is understeer. I've got 235/295 R888s (245s were out of stock and they don't make 255). I'm wondering if part of my problem is that I need a wider tire up front. Thanks for all the updates - this thread is awesome!

Re understeer, try trail braking harder and more often. The 991S is very forgiving on such application.
