BAG is infamous around these parts
Discounts off msrp

I'm going to order a 991S in about 4 or 5 months from now (maybe an early 2013 model). The build will most likely be around $125K. Could anyone share their buying experience with either an in stock or spec. ordered vehicle. I might also order a new Cayenne at the same time. Thanks in advance.

i am not sure what you are asking for. experience is really dependent on the dealer service.

I think he is asking what discounts people are getting for cars in stock v. built to order...

In my case, a built to order, it's 6.5k over invoice which comes to approx 5% or $8.5k off MSRP

I ordered a Cayenne S and a 991S at the same time in November. Dealer would not deal on the CS order......allocations are limited I was told and they have to make their money on the few they get. Called two other dealers in FL who told me the same thing. Best I could do was 1500.00 off on a 100k CS heavily optioned. On the 991 they bestowed upon me a 3% discount on a 128k msrp order.

Could I have done better? Maybe. But the dealer is the closest one to my home by a wide margin, and they have a terrific service department and have treated my very well over the last 12 years. No big deal in the grand scheme of things. Life is too short to drive a demanding bargain and still lose.

Great way to look at it. All the best with the new ride.

Was this on the new 911? If 5% was $8,500 off list that would mean your car was $170K?

Bump - I'd love to see more feedback on this. My dealer is acting like it's a non-starter to discount a new 991.

I was able to get $5k on a highly optioned CTT (~$132k). The dealers will always say that but what you need to do is pit one dealer against another in order to get a deal. The Cayennes will always (for the foreseeable future) be highly sought after and not enough allocations. I would use this technique for the 991 which have more allocations than the Cayenne.

Same here, got $1500 off the Cayenne eventhough I knew other dealers in the area would go lower. The dealership has somewhat become a weird place of homage Relationships are just as valuable to me as $$$.

My dealer, here in Italy, gave me a good -8% OFF discount plus a 2.500 more valutation on my BMW. I Ordered my Carrera S white, PDK, Sport Plus, Double Leather...Personal order.
Think this is a very good deal, but the dealer is a friend of mine.

Anyway, i think that you can ask at minimum a 3-5 % discount...
