OK this may bethe optiut derived pain killers talking or finally my mind just couldn't take the waiting anymore.
But here's what crossed my mind...
I think most will agree that the 918 is a marvelous combination of design and engineering, as such most love the way it looks... classy, classic, sleek but yet aggressive, lets say somewhat reflective of it's just sub 1 million dollar price tag.
Naturally when the speculations of what the new 991 Turbo would look like many thought the Turbos look would be inspired by it...
Sooooo... why is it that the Caractere designed front bumper for the 991 has been received with mainly negative responses... because side by side the Caractere design is very similar to the Turbo rendering and the final design of 918.
I still have it in the back of my head as an option to put on my C4S (I think it'll look much better in black) however I'm not crazy about those rubber "stoppers/ducts" at the outside of the vents (at all!) plus I find as contemperary and fresh the 918 design was when they first started penning it, currently it's almost starting to feel a little "dated" compared to the 991 (the front only though).
85% likely-hood I will stick with the 991 GT3 front-end as my first choice but this Caractere one (front end ONLY!!!) does make me think...
Sorry for playing devils advocate with myself here... must be going a bit stir crazy.

So it's been a very busy week and I haven't gotten to do a whole lot of driving yet, but I got out today for a while. It was definitely worth the wait! What an amazing machine. Those of you with one on the way are very lucky!
The weather today was supposed to be nice so I washed her last night and put a first coat of sealant on in preparation for a drive today and some photos.
Unfortunately, the weather changed it's mind and we wound up with an overcast, drizzly day here. After a short drive the car was pretty dirty and I lost my motivation for a more extensive photo shoot. I did still take some quick ones to share with the group, as promised.

Ordered my 2013 C4S mid January, build date is not till late March, so hoping to see the car by mid May. Very excited as its my first Porsche, had a lot of M3s in the past and have all treated me well, but always wanted a Pcar!!!

The only thing I would add is the PSE or go with an aftemarket but the 991 really becomes a visceral experience when you combine sport+ with PSE.
Your build is pretty similar to mine except mine is a cab with PDCC, PSE and PDK... OK maybe it's not that close but ya know what i mean.
The power-kit has been a source of great debate... personally I think it's absolutely worth it but then again, that's coming from a guy who didn't order it...
You might want to look into deviated stitching in red... I added that to my build but took it of last minute only to now regret it!
Your timing is actually pretty good as a 3 month wait is pretty damn good.
Most here have started to spouting roots already hehehe.

I didn't go PSE because I am planning to go with the Akra exhaust. I have used their products in the past and love them. That being said, rumour has it is $9400, plus shipping, tax, and install....$$$$$ So it will be more then half of the power kit. So Im thinking it makes more sense to go that route instead, but then its getting close to GT3 money.
As for the deviated stitching, its gorgeous!!! I didn't spec full leather though.
Plus, the car will see its share of track days...so need to save some cash for track wheels/tires, pads, lines, fluids and actual track days!!!!

I say you did the right thing, I made the mistake of assuming when the C4S was going to be released ... nope waiting sucks, enjoy your C4s when you get it and see what happens when the GT3 finally does arrive.

Right now I am planning to drive mine year round, and we get a full 4 seasons here in Toronto. So we see if the GT3 will actually fit into my overall plan. Other option is to trade this one in in a few year and get a GTS 4, usually better value as well. Really excited to get the car. Going to be a long 4.5 months though.
