Additionally, this color combination is bit too fancy for the practical 4wd base car with black brake calipers... I will feel guilty whenever people comment on the color....
White / black is a classic as well and was "on the table for discussion" here. Black wheels would be a must. I also really liked the dark blue with beige interior - saw that at my dealership and it was very nice. It is easy to have favorites and hard to go wrong. Enjoy-sounds like it will be a great car!

I went White/Black and originally had it spec'd with Black wheels. I ended up trying Platinum painted wheels instead. If I don't like them, I may try the HRE P40SC in matte black.

Great. I will keep you posted - you do the same. I will look forward to lots of pictures. Yours should be a great build!

I just noticed that EricP's car is silver. I came. Ery close to ordering both his interior and exterior color combo. I saw it, or something close, in a 997.2 and it was wonderful. I am not sure what made me go red. Anyway, if e
He was right about delivery times, we should be looking at mid April. We should be done with snow by then.

I went with the same wheels. They should look very nice indeed on both of our cars. With luck, they show less break dust. I can't wait to see them on your car. There are lots of great black wheels if you want a change of pace. Funny, I only like black wheels on white cars. Oh well, that is just me.

Now that is what I call a post! But you are making me rethink silver. How much do those run?

Sounds like a great build. Nice to know I am not the only one who likes red interiors. Enjoy it! Depending on where you live, they may be on the same boat. Mine is in QC - I just learned this today - and should be released for shipment soon. I love cabs but I have a Mustang convertible and don't need two.

Just heard from my dealer - I am in QC following build. He said he will not get more info until it gets to a ship. Then, he will get a date for port arrival. He has no idea the time frame from now until then -too many variables. But once he knows the date it gets in to port, I should expect to be driving about 10 days later (needs to clear customs, be transported from R.I. To NJ by truck, then they have a lot of prep to do - unlocking stuff looked down in transport, detailing, etc. he said the biggest variable then is time in customs which could be longer or shorter.

I see you are from NJ. What dealer did you use? Are you a member of the local PCA?

Isn't the point to keep the base under 100K

BMW use to do this all the time with the three series, I remember they'd advertise a 3 series starting at 29,900. Which would only be possible if you ordered the car without seats & doors.

Not sure what you meant by "base." Some are referenceing the 3.4 liter Carrera as the base. But assuming you mean that they want to keep the starting point under 100K, that goal will not take them very far. At lest the S Cab is already considerably more. I can only assume that the 4's, Targas, Turbos, GTs and the rest of the cars to be rolled out based on the 991 will not even come close starting under 100K

But the point made by DoninDen can't escape anyone trying to do up a 911 to their liking - the options cost more than 25% of the starting point of the car. They are selling performance and a dream - and both cost!

Hey, you can't take it with you, and with the correct pre-np, neither can your wife!

Thanks! I hope so. And you are totally correct on the option cost. But, on the other hand, at least it is not like the Japanese cars where you can only by most options as part of a package. Hey, maybe they will give me a good deal on a clear bra and built-in radar - NOT.

Your going to love your new 991 !

I got pleasure of a ride, and its amazing how much they improved the car. The interior, the chassis. Porsche/Audi did a great job!
