Just Ordered my 991S Cab 7-speed..now the wait begins
Hi All -- Newbie here. I put in my order on Feb 25th. I have been told I have a build date in April with expected Delivery in May, worst case early June. I live in NorCal, and my dealer is Carlsen.
Getting the order right took a few iterations, I went back and forth on the 20" wheels and ultimately ended up with the Sport-Techno.
Any feedback welcomed..
Thanks,
Asim

I did...when I drove the 997 Cab GTS, the engine noise sounded pretty amazing without PSE. The sales person I worked with did not list PSE as a must have feature. Should I reconsider?

I am a HUGE fan of PSE. I find myself driving with the windows rolled down and radio off just listening to the music from the back!
In fact, my decision to buy the 991 started with me wanting to upgrade my exhaust on my 997.2. This slippery slope led to a 991 test drive and then...

gleek - sounds like i should reconsider. I'll contact the dealership to see if the 2 991's they have on the lot have PSE, to do a "with and without test."

That's what I would do. Some folks don't want/like PSE and that is a personal preference. I would hate for you to order your car without it and then find out that it is a must have for you.

Btw nice order and hopefully the wait won´t feel too long !

For the sake of getting the most enjoyment out of your first 911, yes do reconsider. I am yet to come across any one who has regretted ordering it.

Johataja, you say that you could always install the OEM PSE later, even if your car doesn't have it? With the On\Off button on the console and all the rest?

To those suggesting installing it later, it is probably best to get it from the factory to avoid complications.

3. The seven-speed manual is infuriating
I started my six-day 911 jaunt in an £81,242 Carrera S with a manual version of the PDK cogs. I always likened the old 911's springy gear action to yanking on Action Man's elasticated leg; this new box feels closer-stacked and less truculent. But you’re more likely to find Narnia in the back of your wardrobe than locate sixth when changing down from seventh: every time I landed in fourth with a surge of revs and a feeling of inadequacy. I wasn't wild about the heavy clutch's glacial take up either.

The same review also gave PDK a big nod of approval.
