After spending an insane amount of time on this forum, and becoming frustrated with multiple delays on my order placed on 11/09/11, I got tired of waiting, and was doubting the sanity of buying a 134K 991S in what would now be June (who knows, it could've been delayed yet again), so I pulled the trigger on a new '12 997 TTS in Carrara White. It will be shipped here to FL and I should have it by the end of this upcoming week.

I am paying 28k more for the 997 TTS than my 991S order........which seems to be a smarter move to me.

Thanks to all my fellow posters for all the great info......I will still be peeking in from time to time checking out everyones new 991s as they arrive.

Now off to the 997 turbo forum.

 

Congrats. It's funny, I was looking at a TTS in the showroom during my wait. The dealer offered a test drive, but I resisted.

If you don't mind me asking, what type of discount did you get on your TTS? Any pics?

That's the same debate I had. However, I went with the 991S. It arrived at my dealer last week but I am traveling through this week. The wait is killing me.

 

Lucky you your 991 is in. Congrats. The wait is brutal. I am glad mine is soon to be over. Anyway you look at it we are all very fortunate to be able to enjoy such fine sports cars.

 

10 years from now you will be happy that you did this.

 

I think anyone who's been (is) looking to purchase a 991S has had that thought...
A Turbo, is a Turbo, is a Turbo... top of the line and a car which will put all others in it's place

It can be very demotivating to have these long delays not to mention (like you said) one starts questioning ones sanity...

I've decided to stick with the 991 but got reaaaaal close to doing the same you did!
My order has been pushed back so far the 2013's will actually be made when my 2012 leaves the factory... since I'm in waiting mode I figured I'm going to wait an extra 3 months and get the 2013 991 C4S.

If I don't change my mind and do what you did... no... yes... no... maybe...NO YES Noooooo
The voices in my head are getting the better of me!
