991 lack of low end torque
#32
I will be taking a test drive of an S MT shortly and compare again. The higher torque curves were matched to suit PDK's various program logics.
With MT, I don't usually shift at the low rpms that PDK does for light commutes. And definitely does not shift as fast or modulate clutch as smooth for sure!

One more thing, I found that driving with PSE could give the wrong impression especially during the low rev acceleration because it sounds like you are pushing very hard.
Turn PSE off does feel a bit more respond because of less exhaust note 555.

It all depends what you will do with your car. As a daily driver with a MT you may find that the 3.4 lacks low end torque, especially in slow moving or stop&go traffic. As a week end toy (your case if I read well), you should not worry. Give a little more gas at take off and enjoy revving up the engine!
My experience with the 3.4 was in a MT Cayman R and it was tons of fun on week ends, highways and open roads, but being stuck in Atlanta traffic jams was painful. Hence why I moved to a 991S with PDK that does fine in both circumstances.
