Is $3,000 off MSRP of $120k for 991 a deal?

Speaking of bad deal, wanna hear mine? Dealer says they would give me $1000 off on a brand new 997 black edition. Oh, btw that car is a base, really no options selected and the sticker is $97000. Sucks to be Canadian when buying a Porsche.

10% is their margin on the car, 15% off options.. 120k means that it has at least 25k in options..
their cost on the vehicle is 86,4+21,2+950 deliv=108.55 plus the additional hold backs and incentives they might have.
i would say 5% back would be a ideal number for you and them... they make exactly what you save... say you found another dealer offering the same but if they can match it youll buy today.. should work.

My dealer here seems to have only sold pre-ordered cars as none of the 991s in inventory seem to be moving. Given how new they are and its spring time dealers may not budge much now but i think in a few weeks time you should be able to do much better than 5% given the 13s will be hitting soon. Honestly if you're only gonna get 5% off a 12 just spec a 13 how you want it in a months time...you'll prob get a similar type of discount.

it also my depend on your location...i doubt that dealers are giving big discounts out here in sillycon valley...heck, facebook just paid $1 billion for a company with 12 employees, no revenues that 'sells' a free photo sharing app!!
