Hre wheel texture questions

I currently have the C20 on my Turbo in a "brushed' finish . I love them BTW.

While looking at image galleries I noticed that some cars are labeled "brushed" and others are labeled "brushed tinted clear" .

1) What are the differences if any and how many variations of brushed textures are there ?

Would love to see a white 991 with P40S in several brushed textures if possible .

2) Also what is the difference between the regular P40 and the P40 "S" ?

Thanks in advance .

brushed with tinted clear, is your brushed wheels but instead of "clear coat" over it... it has a tinted clear coat, meaning the clear is greyish... so they look gunmetal but with a brushed grain.

brushed is the same brushed, just the clear over it is tinted black, same way they can tint red/blue/green/etc.

p40 and p40s, the S use a different forging, notice they are flat and have an angle... looking at the profile of course. p40's are rounded.

the diff textures are:
brushed, satin, matte, textured, painted, polished.

Thanks for the explanation . It helped clarrify .

The tinted clear looks absolutely amazing on a Gt silver car but there is not one image to view of it on a white car . I think the brushed clear might lok cleaner . Also the P40 generally looked nice on a widebody like the $S or Turbo but since the 991 has a wider wheelbase it might work and oddly enough most of the galleries are P43 variants .

This is all new compared to years ago

I like the look of brush look too, here's the brushed P43 on my previous white 09 cab.

Now my car's color is Agate grey, I wonder how the same brush look would look with them.

The brushed P43 looks great on the 997 cab and I had seen this image in my searches . Great taste IMO.

I have the brushed on my black Turbo and with a dark color it does look great . Agate is dark enough were it might look very nice. Back when I bought my wheels there were less choices .

The P40 was the original design from 2006. In 2009, we introduced the P40S, the next evolution of the P40 design. In 2012, we introduced the P40SC, featuring a conical profile. Each evolution, we have been able to reduce the weight of the wheels. We have reduced the wheel weight between the original P40 to the P40SC about 3-4 lbs per wheel. I weighed a 20x11 for a CLS63 AMG at 22.4 lbs.

The difference between the Brushed and Brush Tinted is in the powder coat clear that is applied. The standard Brushed has a transparent clear coat. The Brush Tinted has a tinted/darkened transparent clear coat.

P40SC - Brush Tinted (Left) - P40 - Brushed (Right)

Here's some sample 991 pictures on HRE Wheels.

Comparing P40 and P40SC, I still prefer the P40 look, so if I were to get the HRE's, I would need to trade the weight saving for the look.

And that's ok

Since many other wheel companies wheels are even heavier!!

A lot of the European customers still prefer the original P40 design. And many customers still prefer the P40S. It's all personal taste.

Lon, when I got the P43 for the 997.2 S cab, I was told that P40's are for wide body and P43's for narrow body. What's your opinion on the 991's? Does it still apply?

Lon -

I might need to be corrected but i was under the impression that the comical wheels are more styled for appearance than performance . I thought the regular monoblock was more of a performance wheel . Am i incorrect ?

I happen to love the C90 but the 991 is rather understated and the comp wheels might be a bit over the top for what is now more of a luxury 911.

I have seen all of those images on yoir webssite or here . I wish there was a white car with the non spoke brushed variations like P40 and P40 S .

I have always liked the brushed on the white car as it looks so clean . By far the tinted brushed looks amazing on the silver car .

It's months away until I get my car and of course after i pay for it I might need time to thaw out but if and when i make up my mind I want to at least have the exact wheel and texture in mind and out of the Hre options it's these I am considering.

That's incorrect. The P40 is available in widebody or narrow body. The P43 is also available for widebody or narrowbody.

You can select any of the P40/P40S/P40SC Series styles in the correct fitment for Widebody or narrowbody.

Feel free to call our sales team at 760-598-1960 for any type of questions. Or you can email me directly at LonM@hrewheels.com

Also outside of the comp wheels . which do you recommend . I love the C90 but the 991 is rather understated and the comp wheels might be a bit over the top for what is now more of a luxury 911.

The brushed finish would look great on a white 991. I don't think I have any pictures available at the moment of a brushed finish on a 991.

But this 997 on brushed P40S might give you an idea.

I am on the same page as you and even have seen your cars image over a year ago as I liked the P43 for the narrow body 997 .

The new 991 desipite have the same width as the 997 appears wider to the eye . I am leaning toard the P40 but the middle ground between the traditional and conical is the P40 S and I think it looks gorgeous on the white Turbo that Lon provided.
