Euro Delivery - front liscence bracket?
#16
I contacted PCNA on this issue. They contacted the factory re: my July 20th pick up and the factory agreed not to install the front plate prior to my arrival. Instead we will use the Skene Design mounting bracket (I will bring with me). This bracket mounts in a way to keep the holes out of site. I hope all goes according to plan. I will let you know!
Does anyone know if this worked out for ABC991? Thanks

Update
Well, just returned from an amazing trip. 8 days, 2400KM's, 4 people in a 991 with luggage, just awesome!
As for the front plate. PCNA followed through and when I arrived they had held off on installing the front plate. My delivery lead met with my wife as my son and I were on the factory tour. (My youngest is 9, so couldn't do the tour, so my wife stayed with him. Interesting note though, they have a babysitter/nanny who would take care of the younger ones if you wanted while you are on the tour)
He looked at the SkeneDesign bracket and the screws that came with it and was very uncomfortable that it would be secure enough at speed. (I did go 257KM/hr in 7th for a short bit of wide-open autobahn). His concern was that it would work loose. The obvious issue with that would be damage the secondary issue is that if you loose the plate the police/paperwork is supposed to be a nightmare. He scared me sufficiently that I told him to attach the permanent plate, which he did. He said he is very comfortable with the tow-hook type bracket. I have front parking sensors, so I had not brought that bracket with me.
Either way, Porsche was very accommodating and willing to do what I would like. They also offered not to install it at all, but I didn't want any disruptions or police attention on our trip.

When you get your delivery folder from the dealer (leather binder with all the hotel, taxi coupons etc) it will include a business card from your PCNA euro delivery specialist. My person was Jamie Dillon and she couldn't have been more helpful. She was very responsive, took emails and calls and followed up on all my inquiries.

Jamie Dillon at PCNA rocks!
So my Euro Delivery specialist continues to amaze me. While the bracket that I brought to europe didn't work out it was no fault of Jamie, PCNA or the factory. However, when I got home last night I have a fedex package from Jamie at PCNA with a handwritten apology for my disapointment and a small scale model of my car in Guards red over black. Totally unnecessary but such a little delighter.

European Delivery - Front License Plate
Okay, I have to brag all over US Mill Works from which I purchased my tow hook front license plate bracket. Today I received the following message AFTER I ordered their product:
"Hi, thanks for choosing us. I just wanted to confirm your 981 does not have front parking sensors."
How cool is that for a company to let you know about an issue that might involve an order cancellation. Thanks USMW.

You CAN turn off the sensors, but it turns off front and back. You will need to do it each time you start the car. I had read that the tow hook would not work if you had the front sensors, but on a temporary basis like euro delivery it would work fine. Had I know that I would have taken a tow hook bracket instead... oh well.
