Euro Delivery - front license bracket?

Question for those that have done Euro Delivery... I live in Florida where a front liscence plate is not required. I know from my experience with BMW euro delivery that a front plate is required in Germany. Does anyone know how they mount the plate... Will they be drilling holes in the front bumper? BMW recently moved to a sticker type plate so as not to deface the car. I am hoping that Porsche has done the same.

Porsche drills the bumper to install the front bracket. BMW uses double-sided tape. i know exactly ur concern. that's why i did the BMW European Delivery. not planning to do Porsche unless they change the policy.

Thank you, but not the news I was hoping for! I am still going to do it because the experience of driving the car over there is just too good, but I am a disappointed.

Good news

I contacted PCNA on this issue. They contacted the factory re: my July 20th pick up and the factory agreed not to install the front plate prior to my arrival. Instead we will use the Skene Design mounting bracket (I will bring with me). This bracket mounts in a way to keep the holes out of site. I hope all goes according to plan. I will let you know!

I like that design. Are you going to use the self taping screws to install it?

ABC,
i just saw the design of the Skene Design mounting bracket. seems like it still needs to be drilled, just the under side. have u considered the one bracket that uses the tow hook hole? i have that & i think it's a good solution. just not sure if it'll fly with the Germans.

I'm assuming you're going to drill in the recessed area where it would never be seen, right?

Does anyone know if the plate that mounts in the tow hook is acceptable over there. I too am thinking of the Euro delivery and do not want my bumper drilled.

I looked at the tow hook option, liked it a lot, but it's not compatible with front parking sensors. I emailed with the company and they confirmed that it would not be viable.

Yes, the Skene design still requires screws, but they are under the lip and out of sight... Any one see concerns with this?

The key for me was getting factory agreement not to have the plate installed before I arrived and at least to consider an alternative... Let's hope it works out

I ordered one which should be here in a couple of days. I'm considering attaching it to the top lip of where the 997 center cooler would be, but I'm not going to put it on unless I'm forced to. I'll let you know if that scheme works. I'm pretty sure it would require a 90 degree drill capability, but they aren't that expensive.

Not sure if this matters, but I brought my US porsche to Germany and for almost a year now I have driver on US plates, with no front plate. I have been approached by police once, and they were very understanding.
