C4S Deposit, Targa4s news, and 7MT Orders..

I have gone back and forth on the decision for a C2S or C4S - I think i am cracking. Porsche just sent me pull through documents and while I don't usually lease, I did for the Targa. Basically if I want they will grab the last 3 payments of my car (Sept,Oct,Nov) and get me in a new one sooner as long as I finance or lease it again - doesn't matter how long or short.
I am taking the wife to the dealer on Saturday to discuss this and help pick colours. I really want to try a C2S and will miss the WB of the C4 but with the new glass roof being an option and the fact that I can have it open on the highway (unlike the Targa too much buffeting) I am thinking of taking a dive. I will most likely not keep it too long and jump from variant to variant as they are released. I love my car, but I just like to change it up every once in a while, keeps me focussed and working hard.
Thoughts? Yes its a DD and I am in the middle of Toronto (city driving) so the 4WD is nice but I don't think its super necessary with a good set of winters.. Saturday will be a big one.. already have my build done Decision decisions..

Sounds like you are about to pull the trigger... certainly a good deal with the last 3 payments covered.
It's tough call (I am still facing myself) instant gratification or prolong the agony of waiting even further...
Get it now, the wait has been for nothing... but I certainly understand, it does get very anti-climactic after a while.
To such a point that I just had enough, and almost (very small margin!) bought the most imposing, amazingly beautiful and impractical monster of a car I've ever driven... a AMG SLS roadster .
Came to my senses (for now) but I imagen you must be feeling much like I am... just tired of the damn waiting!!
My 2 cents, if you're planning on changing to another 991 variant anyway maybe get the torture over with... than again, next spring you might be cursing every time ya see a 991 wide-body go by.
Guess that didn't help much.
GOOD LUCK!

Congrats on picking your 911! I also chose to work with Downtown Porsche. Between tracking with a couple of the mechanics and my sales associate being an avid club racer, I had a great experience. I was lucky in that the car I wanted was on the lot, and spec'ed almost exactly as I wanted, and it was a 7MT. I'm surprised by the stats on the manual since it seems like every car on the lot is a PDK.
My office is downtown as well, and I'm planning on driving the car in regularly. Given the width of of tires on the 991S, it has tons of grip, so I don't think you'd be missing too much by going without AWD.

We went to the dealership today to review options and colours. My wife and have agreed on the Expresso interior with the Platinum Silk painted wheels and the electric glass roof. The only thing we are unsure of is exterior we liked the PSilver but kept going back to the nice bright white. Yup I am pretty much cracked and in all honesty while I am sure the WB looks great I have to say that this new 991 looks wider even though its probably not.

Hey I'm also in Toronto and considering a 991 C2S, have you visited the dealer in Vaughan(Auto Park Cir)? If you do, which one would you prefer to go, the one in downtown or the one in Vaughan?
Thx

The dealer in Vaughan is Pfaff Porsche. I have several friends who used them and are happy with them. Personally, I went with Downtown because they are very close to my office, and I track with some of the folks from there, so i'm comfortable with the people there.

Same here, its closer to my office and home - also got to know everyone there so feel pretty comfortable doing business with them.

Thought about it over and over on the weekend and have decided to wait for the C4S. We have a baby coming in about 2 weeks (our 1st) so I am pretty sure that even if I got my new toy I would not be able to enjoy it for a few months. Will chat more soon, the fall is just around the corner!

Porsche is silent as ever, nobody really knows. I am sure come the late summer and fall there is going to be lots of Porsche news.
