How long does it take in your neck of the woods ?

How long does it take from date of order at your dealer until you get feedback such as projected build dates ?
My dealer mentioned it takes at least two months to get any info at all. Is that really true ?

poot991 is infamous around these parts
Here in Dubai it took me 3 weeks from placing the order at the dealer to getting an expected delivery date. Having said that...the total wait from order day is around 7 months....

It was for me. I couldn't believe it! I ordered it the end of November last year and it's now in customs. With mine, it may be that it's a base and they were pushing S cars.

Wow, that's a little too long. Did you order anything special or is yours a standard build ?
My dealer here in Cape Town reconed around 4-5 months to delivery when I asked about middle of April. I ordered two weeks later and it seemed it had started to stretch then already. Seems this car getting the "Performance car of the year" award is not going to help shorten delivery times at all. Seems patience is called for. Not something I'm known for.

I had to wait until 2013 model year b/c I wanted the Aero Pkg. The dealer told me that it would be built in mid-June.... I didn't have to wait to find out the build date...... Most likely I will see the car in August...

My build delay around 2 months due to the option 559. Manufactures supply issue due to the delay. Actually my car was ready since the end of March and waited for the vessel to exit Germany nearly one month. The vessel departed on April 27 according to my sales. I just received a letter last night from the local dealer that said my car will arrive around June 8. Finally can see my car around mid of June.

Actually different country has different waiting time depend on the quota. US is the biggest market for the Porche so I think the US buyer do not need to wait such a long time compare to others.

Left hand vs. right hand drive may have something to do with it as well ?Not sure of course, just a guess.
We have right hand drive here in South Africa due to the extended tropical beach holidays the British liked to do many years ago (until they were told to stay on their own little island ).

Love the Aerokit option as well. Front looks much more meaningful if you see that coming up in your rear view mirror. Back nicely rounded off with the wing. Would have gone for this if it where not for the much reduced ground clearance in the front. Simply will not work here.

Good point. Never thought the LHD/RHD may have something to do with the alocation.
