BTW, do you think the coloring of the glass sunroom would look good on a Carrera White 991S? Or would it break up the coloring on the roof too much?

Again, your car looks beautiful!!!
Not sure whether the glass s/r adds any significant weight vs the steel s/r, but if this is an issue, say for track use, then it's probably best to leave off any type of s/r altogether. IMO, the added weight of the s/r has virtually no effect on street handling at sane speeds.

I happened to see a white 991 with the glass s/r on the street in Stuttgart the night before I took delivery of my car at the Zuffenhausen factory. I thought that the contrasting s/r looked good, just as it does on my Stratus Grey 650. But this is purely subjective.

I'll add that in 1991, when I bought an NSX in it's first year of production, I detested the two-tone, always black on top, faux fighter ****pit look, so much that I went with an all black car to avoid it. Still have that car today--the fact that it's a MT allowed me to opt for the incredibly good PDK in the 991--but for practical reasons, would never choose a black car again. Again, a purely subject observation.

Spyder

PS. Note the **** on the word ****pit above. That was added automatically by a nanny looking out for all you sensitive typesAmazing.

Wonder if sunroof affects the rigidity of the chassis?

I would think all large holes would effect stiffness, but I have a sunroof and it is stiffer than my 997, but I don't think quite as stiff as my C6 was.

My "early july delivery" glass sunroof car was set back to late august and last friday I was told that now it's in their system with mid september... but no fixed build date yet!

Highly annoying. Summer is nearly over then. Don't know what's up with these glass sunroofs...

Have you been told by your dealer to make an official complaint directly to Porsche? And, I'm curious -- what's your intention? Get a loaner, or cancel, or some compensation?

I originally ordered the glass roof. When asked the dealer told me that I couldn't completely screen out light - my wife is photo sensitive - so i canceled it and opted for the solid roof. Now that I hear your stories I am not sorry.

I directly called Porsche Stuttgart, there is actually a special service number where you can address your complaints and i mentioned the enormous delay! I received an answer and they told me 1. i added the Sport Exhaust (3 weeks delay), 2. the glass roof (4 weeks delay) and 3. factory holidays (3 weeks no production).... we'll c - i'm still trying to get delivery date changed.....
