S or 4S. Which would you prefer and why?

LOL and I put my deposit in last March!.... so it'll be 12 months waiting.
Because I'm not a patient guy I tried every other "similarly" priced car under the sun (fun in it's own right) and got reeeeeeal close to getting an AMG SLS roadster but in the end I'm staying with the 991 C4S cab.
I'm still in love with my current C4S but I'm not spending anymore $$ on it so I did get a Benz E 350 coupe to customize and play with (and make the wait a little more bearable..).

Hey I heard that!
I just can't help myself... I LOVEEEE that wide rear end!
I do like the extra planted feel of the AWD as well but like you I do not drive the 911 in winter, too much crap on the roads (salt, gravel and sliding vehicles...) not to mention that it would turn into a snowplow pretty quickly...
That said I have taken the C4S on a few days with fresh fluffy snow covered mountain roads and even on a frozen lake with a figure 8 circuit... man that was fun and the C4S handles amazingly, truly mind boggling!
But other than that the C4S stays nice and comfy in the garage till spring.
BTW I got a confirmation from my dealer that the 991 C4S will start production in Jan with delivery in March/April.
I have never had the patience to wait this long for a car...EVER!
Must be getting old.

If you track, go with RWD.
But as a DD, it's nice have AWD.
Most Porsche drivers, or for that matter 99% of the public, will never be able to extract the full potential of any Porsche.
Good luck on your search!

Yeah now let's hope I don't get hit by a truck in the mean time!
Thanks Chuck, I sure hope all this waiting is gonna be worth it.
Cheers!

The data on the 997 total luggage space doesn't support the Quote. The Porsche data shows the 4s at 3.71 versus 4.41 cu.ft. Note that the interior volume is identical for both versions.

Regarding the OP: the best feature of having a 4s (with snow tires) is I'm not restricted to using the car any month or weather condition. Sure it sits in the garage more during the winter. I won't go out with 6" of fresh snow but I've had to drive in that depth on occasion. I saw more 911's in St. Anton Austria then any other city I've ever visited; it was in March, lots of snow in them hills.
