Question Keeping Her Clean

Took delivery of my 991 Carrera S Cabriolet this past Thursday. Agate Grey with black interior. Been driving it every chance I get. What products are best for keeping the body, interior and wheels clean? I was told that Dawn Dish soap is good to clean the wheels. (I don't know about that ). I was also told that "Simple GreeN" is also good for cleaning the interior. Any good suggestions are welcome. Once I get my baby clean I'll post some pics.

Look in the detailing section. I use wheel cleaners, car soap, and various things on the interior. If you have leather then I would not use simple green.

I also have an Agate Grey exterior car; it has 20 inch classic wheels. I have been using P21S wheel cleaner. For the paint I've used the porsche cleaner as well as P21S soap. Wax: P21S 100% Carnauba Wax .

I have heard that Dawn will strip wax from the car and have stayed away from using it on the wheels.

I've all ways been a big fan of Zaino,....both exterior and interior products. Read the application section to see how it's done. Take the time to do it right and it is fantastic.

www.zainobros.com

For minor interior cleaning, a capfull of Simple Green to 32oz. of water is just great, nothing more is needed and won't harm a thing. For the bright work and glass, a capfull of white vinegar in about 24oz of water does wonders, better than anything else off the self IMO.

For wheels I just use normal Zaino car washing soap with a clean sponge to get all the brake dust off. Then wax also with Zaino.

Lots of good products posted so far. I'd also recommend you check out detailersdomain.com. Lots of great products and Phil the owner provides amazing customer service, fast shipping, great advice, ...

I've tried just about everything listed above at some point, but other products I really like are sonax wheel cleaner and menzerna polishes and sealers.

+1 for detailedimage.

Seeing the difference between a properly detailed car without swirls and one with is dramatic. Careful washing is the key.

Question re the high end waxes -- they don't have any solvents in them do they? For bugs, they seem not to just allow you to wipe them out the way an off the shelf wax does? What do you do for the nose and front surfaces -- wax first with a "lesser" wax?

I use Swissvax on my A8 and Porsche. I find the best results are with 5 coats as the gloss is deeper and nothing seems to stick to it. It also seems to hold up very will.

On my truck I use a polymer. Just don't want to put the effort into my beater. It needs a polish and wax now but can't spare the time for it.

My present project is leather treatment in the Porsche.

Groitsgarage.com has lots of high quality products for our cars. I'm very pleased with their soap, wax, window cleaner & tire black. Just purchased their paint sealant but have not had time to try it yet.

Here's an update: Just used the paint sealant allowed 24 hour cure time then followed by a coating of their Carnauba Paste Wax and the 991 looked amazing.
I was able to drive it these past 3 days and any dirt and dust seems to be just rolling off. By god I may have just found the right combo.
