Saw a Porsche Speedster (cab) sticker price 206K and a RS4.0 for about the same amount. One of the new Panamera Turbo S showed its badge at 186K. WOW!! I hope that Facebook will be trowing off some dollars.
Are you saying that Porsche is beginning to price themselves out of the market?

I understand the lack of interest in the inventory, the cars are simply just configured terribly. Here's the config of the 991s that I think will never sell unless the discount is steep. Note the car already has 500 miles on it.

693 - 6-disc CD/DVD changer
690 - SiriusXM(TM) & HD Radio tuners
680 - BOSE(R) Surround Sound System
P37 - BOSE(R) Audio Package
630 - Light Design Package
625 - Porsche Entry & Drive
603 - Porsche Dynamic Light System
541 - Seat ventilation (front)
342 - Seat heating (front)
276 - Automatically dimming mirrors
P3C - Prem Pkg Plus w 18-way seats
324 - Adaptive Sport seats Plus (rig
323 - Adaptive Sport seats Plus (lef
P07 - Adaptive Sport Seats Plus (18-
031 - Porsche Dynamic Chassis Contro
ZAB - Ornamental Porsche Crest
844 - Multi-function steering wheel
XSC - Porsche Crest on headrests
CPE - Leather key pouch
XRP - Wheel spacers, 5 mm
446 - Wheel caps color Porsche crest
427 - 20-inch Carrera Classic wheel
748 - Electric folding ext. mirrors
658 - Power Steering Plus
651 - Electric sunroof
636 - ParkAssist (front and rear)
250 - Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)

With a few options, we are looking between 120 to 130+. That is base R8 and Vantage price. And a few other GT car. Not to say those are better car than a 991, but there are more selection in that price range.

To me this car doesnt look near as bad as some I have seen, although you didn't mention the colors. The majority of the options listed above are included in the Bose audio package and premium package plus with adaptive seats. The classic wheels, PDK and sunroof seem to be very popular, so those make sense. Aside from the PDCC the few remaining options are low dollar that probably only increase the price by about $2k total.

To me the cars that I think will never move are the ones with $15k in leather/trim options.

The reason for not selling quickly is lack of sport chrono.

Cognac metallic with black non leather interior. I don't know, it has $25K of options on it with a sticker price of ~$123K. That seems like a lot without SPASM, PSE, SC+, full leather, or Burmester.

Yeah, doesn't make sense. Who'd spend $123K on this kind of config...should perhaps be kept as a loaner

I agree that a lot of these cars are not selling because of the terrible and expensive options.

Nice color although maybe not popular, but a bunch of options tacked on that don't do the car a lot of good.

No full leather but PDCC, rear wiper, park assists, power steering plus, folding mirrors, 5mm spacers,.....what is the theme here? Performance or luxury? Seams just like a mixed bag here, no direction.

Visited my dealer to pick up the car after clear bra and return the loaner and found he had 4 cabs in inventory. The loaner did not have full leather, which to me makes the car feel a bit cheap and makes the door panel squeak. other than that the loaner was a great car. Options will make the difference on an impulse buy from inventory.

When a decent 911 gets well over $100K, I agree that the feeling that the car represents a good value starts to go away.

I've been toying with the idea of getting a 991 GT3 (assuming I like it when it comes out), but I'm anticipating that the price will be so high that a used 997 GT3 will be a better way to go. No hurry anyway, since I need to continue working on becoming a driver worthy of the car.

Yes I do. There is a huge retail shock on these cars all the way from the Boxter to the over-200-K specials.

By this time next year, we will have all 20 variation of 991 to choose from, plus the special 50th Anniversary edition of each of the 20 variation.

My guess is there will be a minimum of 30 different 991. They might introduce 50th Anniversary PLUS..., I love it!

Bought my 09 C2S for $85k, Porsche was offering 1.9%, got a check in January from Porsche for $14.08 on pay-off.

No Nav or Bose, took the money I saved and bought a Tubi system from Champion.

If I could swing it, would buy a 2012 TT. Hennessy in ATL just sold a white TT, internet special, asking was $128k.

500 h.p., AWD v. 400 h.p.

To me, that is what is called a no-brainer.
