Door & Dash Trim - aftermarket

Door & Dash Trim - aftermarket
suncoast has finally got the OEM dash trims for wood, brushed & carbon but it looks like you can't get the door trim. it sounds like Porsche has somehow fused the door trim to the whole panel.
this is totally nuts imo; sounds like you are going to be forever stuck with the stuff you have now. i can't really warm up to the idea of the aluminum door trim mixing particularly well with just a carbon dash. ditto for wood - yes, some do like wood & it does bl@@dy fit in sports cars.
anyway, some people here have painted their door trims already & i am curious how they did it. i am trying to find one of the threads with pic. anyone remember who it was that got a white 991 and did a bunch of red painting to the interior trim?
overall, general bummer at this point imo.

I'll keep checking on the factory door panel stipes, doesn't look promising thus far.

Unfortunately that is right. I spoke to the guys from Tequipment in Stuttgart/Zuffenhausen just a week ago (am interested in changing to a carbon theme in the interieur) and they confirmed that the door trim is welded somehow to the door. The only way to change it is to dismantle/exchange the whole interior door panel
The Tequipment guys themselves were pretty pissed about that, bc they obviously loose business, bc no one exchanges only the front trim and leaves the door trim...
Probably Porsche does this bc of some production related savings at the door panel supplier... Still, pretty stupid for a company having a considerable revenue from "after-market" products themselves.
