After the Break-in ...
Porsche says that the break-in period should be 2000 miles (in the USA). Yet I read somewhere that it is 3000 kms outside the USA. So I took that to mean that I only needed 1,864 miles (the equivalent of 3,000 kms) which I hit today. So I finally took the 991 MT thru its paces. The car becomes alive after 5k rpm. Definitely a different experience. So I will have to spend more time driving it "freely" and share more thoughts on the car at a later time.
The gear shift assist gauge finally started working. It is sort of a gimmick but I found that when it turns into a yellow circle or red circle, it becomes noticeable. The tachometer is bigger and a better guide of where you are in terms of revs. Maybe Porsche can make the entire tachometer background turn yellow or red as needed and forgo the "gear shift assist" altogether.

What does the base 991 top out in 1st and 2nd gear ... my 991 S tops out at around 75mph in 2nd (might be a mph or two less or more) so really I kind of find it hard to really rev out the gears since 2nd gear is already putting me into a speeding ticket catagory.
I think I've said this before but sometimes I like to drive a slower car fast because on the streets you get to rev it out .. not that the base 991 is slow because it is insanely fast but maybe it is more livable for the manual driver who likes to rev out their car and doesn't go to the track.
