At first I thought it maybe I was spinning a wheel, but I can't see any evidence of that. Interestingly if I just hold the brake and apply power, it does not do this; it stays in the 1200-1600 RPM range. In my 2009S PDK if I just tromped on it, it would not slip and starve itself before coming on a couple hundred milliseconds later. This happened in a 2010 C2 that I drove also. I'll be interested to see if this technique works when one just tromps on it.

It may have something to do with the 3.4 to compensate for it's reduced torque at low RPM. Or it may be a compensating technique if one doesn't have a limited slip differential. Do you have a 3.4 or 3.8, Arthur? I'll be interested to hear if this works for you.

PS Don't know if it's recorded and yes, it is much more exhilarating. Next time I do it I'll check to see if any lights come on, but I haven't noticed any yet.
I have a 3.8. I will try this.

So that I understand clearly: you are holding down the brake, applying about 1/4 pedal quickly, then releasing brake for an exhilarating start.

No hold down of the brake. Just quickly give it 1/4 to 1/3 throttle. If you hold the brake down, the clutches keep the RPM below 2000.

I tried it yesterday with full throttle and it does it there also. As the clutches closed the RPM went down a couple hundred to 2800 then when it got back up to 3700 the tires broke lose and I had to get off it quick to keep the RPM in check. If I did the same thing with my 2009S it would gasp for breath, lock up the clutches and then just accelerate with the clutches locked.
