Thanks Eduardo! Looking forward to your thread as I'm still very torn on what to make leather and what not to, lol...

Do you mind checking to see when that is available? How about the steering column casting in deviating stitching? Has anyone here order steering wheel with deviating stitching, or does that only come in black?
I will explain in my upcoming thread what the primary issue is with the current order limitations of deviating stitching on certain 'Porsche Exclusive' options. It has to do with production bottlenecks at the sub-contractors which now provide quite a few of the options for their 'just in time' factory assembly process at Zuffenhausen.

The steering wheels will have a deviating stitching option soon. Same for the shifter gate on manual transmission cars. Thankfully, we don't have to worry about coordinating the stitching on the E-brake handle anymore!

The steering wheel case option covered with leather & special stitching is about to be added to the list of available 991 and 981 options. Same for the interior leather door sills. I have both of these options also on my '12 Spyder and they are the right touch for a full leather interior, especially if you are ordering 'Carrera Red' premium natural leather.

For a full description of the custom ordering process that I went through with my recent '12 Spyder, please check the following link. It has received over 5,700 views and I have tried to explain in great detail the intricacies of the ordering process in that mysterious labyrinth world of 'Porsche Exclusive':

http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforum...tom-order.html

It takes time to understand the process. But in the end, if you make the effort learn how the systems works at PAG & 'Porsche Exclusive', it is worth every extra dollar you spent in customizing the interior or exterior of your car. Porsche AG, unlike Mercedes or BMW, offers a very unique program via Porsche Exclusive that is rare thing in the today's automotive world. In an age of homogeneous & bland automobile interiors and growing pressures from VW to 'standardize' Porsche's series production for greater volume, I don't know how long this wonderful service (as presently configured via 'Porsche Exclusive') will continue to be offered. So take advantage of it while you can!

Saludos,
Eduardo

i would suggest looking at the extended leather for the dash that covers the plastic all around the sport chrono dial. it also does the back piece of the dash that abutts the windshield, but it is the stitching around the sport chrono that would look good and be noticed

I think that will finish up the dash nicely. Anyone has good pics with this options other than the 3D configurator?

Agreed... I'm interested in this option as well. I'm afraid of over-doing it with leather, though. I don't want to take away from the sportiness of the car by having leather everywhere, but still want it to look like a quality, high-end car.

Can't speak for the rest, but I don't think covering the interior with a side of cow take away anything including sportiness. It is a daily driver, quality/high-end is a good thing as long as it is within budget. This is not to say non-full leather interior is low end, my personal preference is full leather.

This is a great statement. The new 991 can fit in many situations and if I was planning on beating one on the track on regular bases, then leather is not so important.

For me, I buy a sports car because I love the feel and the excitement it adds to a trip down the coast or up and over the mountain passes. The nicer it is inside, the more special I feel for being there. I had a chance to sit in a GT3 that had way to many leather options and included things like the vents in leather. To this day I will not forget the lust I had for that car. My 991 will have those options.
