Leather options on dash and rear

Does anyone have photos of some of the leather options for the dash and/or rear? Really curious to see what a full leather car optioned with the leather dash inserts looks like (preferably in black if anyone has it).

I think I'm gonna do the rear tunnel in decorative deviated stitching, but was wondering if the other leather inserts are worth it (like the seatbelts etc)?

I ordered the rear tunnel in leather as IMO it's a pretty good bargain for the price. As you probably know you get the rear tunnel in leather plus the center compartment lid done in leather also,....both with decorative stitching. For a full leather car I think this is a great option.

The other leather option is the speaker covers and seat belt outlets in leather. I passed on this as it's pretty pricey and felt it wasn't needed,....spent money elsewhere.

I don't like the leather dash inserts,...I like the contrast there with either the silver, carbon fiber or painted body color. I ordered the CF (with black full leather), expensive but really liked it as it doesn't stick out as much as the silver and enhances the interior. I have seen the leather dash inserts in pictures and to me they look a bit funny,....like patchwork leather, but I have not seen them in person so can't pass final judgement. Good luck with your decisions.

Thanks for the reply rocket_boy! I was thinking/wondering the same thing about the dash... Whether it would compliment the leather dash or look like patchwork?

Agree on the rear as its pretty non-noticeable. Also thinking of getting the 18 way sears and was considering putting the backs in leather but now am liking the contrast of the backs not being in leather.

Any pics of your interior with CF to share?

Thanks!

I sure wish I had some of mine,...ordered, still in wait mode.....

I've seen the CF on a few other 991s, but not the black leather. I have seen it on it on a 997 with black leather and it looked very nice. Just the right amount of contrast for me at least.

I agree with the sport seat backs,....I ordered the regular sport seats and left the backs as is. I like them painted with some colors, but funny Porsche doesn't seem to offer them on the 991 yet.

I am doing the rear in decorative an Air Vents in Leather. I have seen this on a black car and it is very notable. Porsche does such and excellent job of matching the color and textures on none leather areas that it is not worth the extra investment in most places. I do think full leather is needed IMHO however the other bits are just a matter of taste and the size of your wallet.

I agree... I am definitely going to do full leather option, but was thinking of leaving everything else alone except for the rear tunnel and center console armrest in decorative stitching and leather. Then I'm going to do Guards Red stitching everywhere that's an option (figure it'll probably look odd if i do in most places, but not all). This would be full black leather interior with Carrera White exterior.

Was really curious if the dash inserts, the rear pieces, and the air vents were worth doing in leather. I don't want to take the "sportiness" away of the interior, though, and make it look too luxury-oriented...

When is your order go in? Please let me know if they can do the rear tunnel decorative stitching in contrast color for you. I was told they the couldn't do that for now, but might be able to do it after August...

Hmmm maybe you know something I don't then. It's all hypothetical for me at this point... Have not placed an order yet. But we did "build" it at the dealer two days ago and there were no "errors" when we chose a deviated stitching for the rear.

regarding stitching in a different color, how is this priced? I don't see this option in the website configuration.

for now, it is only on the dealer internal site. It is the same as 997, the cost is different for each little piece. I do not understand why they have such a system. Maybe there are consumers out there that would choose to stitch part of the car in a color and leave other parts in black...

That is interesting, I will find out. I have seen red stitching with black interior once on a 991, It is very nice.

I configured dark blue exterior with light grey interior at the dealership. The rear tunnel leather is a great option plus back of 18 way sport seats in leather as well. We looked into pricing of decorative stitching in dark blue color which I was told would cost me USD$4K extra!

Keith: Here you go. Option XHS for $1190. I don't have photos yet of option CZW for $1710, but I ordered the 'Porsche Exclusive' 997/987 version for my '12 Spyder and I love it (Carrera Red photo). Last photo shows a 997 with dash leather ventilation option.

I am going to do a separate thread on 'Porsche Exclusive' options on the 991 and 981 soon. I custom ordered a '12 Spyder from Porsche last year and learned quite a bit about how 'Porsche Exclusive' works from that experience. I have already been talking to 'Porsche Exclusive' directly about their leather interior options for the new 991 & 981 (plus deviating stitching, etc) and I will post what I have learned shortly. Keep an eye out for it here and in Rennlist.

As of June, they couldn't do the center tunnel rear and the additional dash(ventilation strip by the windshield) with deviating stitching, but no issues on the rest.

Do you mind checking to see when that is available? How about the steering column casting in deviating stitching? Has anyone here order steering wheel with deviating stitching, or does that only come in black?
