Which of these would you chose? Cab/Coupe

sorry wrong choice of words. What I was trying to convey was if I were to buy a coupe, I'd get a GT series coupe as apposed to a standard Carrera or Carrera S. In other words, I prefer coupes in their highest performance/track oriented versions.

I've owned many many Porsche Turbos. Everytime I get a cab I regret it. I love convertibles but to me the 911 is meant to be a coupe, handles better, looks better, is faster etc. My vote is stay with coupe

Lou that is well stated and for me your comments explain perfectly how I felt after my last few cab test drives.

I really did not intend this thread to become one where the debate is about which car is better...a cab or coupe. It was about highlighting the pros and cons of a cab, because I have not owned one, so that I could come to a reasonable decision about which one is better for me.
The cab owners here have clearly indicated that there are NO negative issues about the cab. the consensus amongst you seems to be more focussed on the joy of open air driving than the handling and performance of the car. This is also a good time for me to mention that I am new to this forum and therefore play my go easy on me card for you to be gentle with your flames.

Go with the Cab...its the best of both worlds and the Cab is unique, especially the new 991.
Tons of coupes in my area but very few cabs, turbos and targas
Unless you track, a typical driver can not and will not extract the full potential of any Porsche car so don't worry about Cab vs Coupe for performance

Even the 997 cab has very little flex, and I have to believe the 991 is significantly better. Unless you're driving on the track, I can't imagine this would ever be an issue. I believe some pca regions allow cabs on the track for their de's, and I've never heard anyone voice significant complaints about the way their cab handled.

I have to agree.

Funny. And sorry.
I think the bottom line is this: if you think you'll enjoy open air motoring occasionally, and you don't plan to track it, what's the downside of a cab?
