Custom Ordering a 991, 'Porsche Exclusive' and You!

+1 on the black "full leather" on the 991 not being the same as black "full leather" on the 997.1 or .2. Not the same quality at all and much lighter. Just like the PDK only option on the 991 GT3, sounds like a decision made by a crack team of accountants working for a wholly owned subsidiary of Volkswagen.....

On the 991, you get to choose from two BiColor choices: 'Agate Grey/Pebble Grey' and 'Black/Platinum Grey' (see photo #1). The 'green' option is 'Agate Grey/Lime Gold' which is shown on Configurator available only on the 981 but which I hope is also allowed in the 991! I hope to check soon with 'Porsche Exclusive' to see if that BiColor 'Lime Gold' will be extended to the 991.
The advantages of Two Tone or BiColor are many but let me list a few:
a) It visually helps 'enlarge' the 991's cabin space by the lighter color under panels!
b) Reduces glare on front windshield since dash is dark color. A common objection to lighter color interiors!
b) The deviating stitching is just enough to make the whole interior 'pop'!
c) It is an easy, no-fuss way to distinguish your interior from the drab 'black' so often favored by Teutons over at the Fatherland!
d) Leather Steering Wheel is color coordinated to your BiColor interior!
d) It is a bargain as far as normal 'Porsche Exclusive' options go!
And, btw, my first detailed discussion of 991 configurations was with Sascha Glaeser at the Porsche design studio in Beverly Hills. Terrific fella, and very helpful in sorting out the myriad choices that can overwhelm a P-car neophyte like me.

I have a question regarding the PTS list.
For an already available color, like Guards Red, why is it listed in the matrix as "Feasibility Check Necessary" for the 911?
For Carrara White, for the 911 it shows "Feasibility Check Started"
What gives

Ajax: I have a theory of why that is, but I have not had it confirmed yet by 'Porsche Exclusive' (although I have asked them the question in an email) . Note that the only approval for 'Guards Red' on this list is for the Panamera. And 'Guards Red' is not offered normally on the Panamera! So the whole point of including 'Guards Red' on this list was to tell you that its available for PTS on the Panamera for $5500. But instead of marking 'Available as standard for 991 & 981', they just put questions marks under 991 & 981 because the writer of this list was too lazy to explained it fully! Does that make sense to you?
