Thats what I'd do, that or wait for cabrera or Aventador.
Seriously???

Sorry for your troubles, I must say that I love living in an area where there are 4 Porsche dealerships in a 40 mile radius.

Seems to be an extremely small dealership with only one technician on duty.

Last time I had this type of a problem was with my 2005 VW Toureag (couldn't find any Porsches then), which only had a tech in house on Tuesday and Thursdays, while my local Porsche dealership had 5 techs on each day. I moved on.

I hope you thoroughly enjoy your new car.

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes. I picked up the Mas GT Sport on Friday and so far I am not missing the 991S. The 911 is definitly smaller and more nimble but I prefer the engine sound and power in the GTS. The electronics in the Porsche are superior to Maserati (Navigation, etc.) while the leather and layout in the GTS trumps the 911. My hope is that I have far fewer issues with the GTS and that the dealer will properly address any that may arise. Odd time for me in that it is the first time in ten years there hasn't been a Porsche in my garage . . .

CONGRATS!

That said, I hope someone at PCA reads this thread... this is what happens when customers don't get treated right!
The fact is no one "needs" a Porsche... it's an ego product, an amazingly engineered and performing one to be sure but something we want as apposed to need.

Dealers need to keep that in mind when servicing these purchase of passions or they end up loosing their clients, point in case!

I almost bought a Masser GT-S cab this summer because it's actually less $ than the C4S 991 however... as amazing as the exhaust is (and it is truly AMAZING) I had an issue with the seating position (to high, like sitting "on" a chair as opposed to "in" a seat) and the lack of power/handling...
But the styling and that damn sound (on the S) are exceptional!!

Enjoy!

Tstires---...if I can afford a New Porsche and a Maserati... Why would I not slap that 991s on a Flatbed and ship it to another Porsche Dealer?

OP, I totally understand. I was mistreated by one dealer, Porsche USA didn't care either. Leave a couple of bad but honest reviews wherever you can. I was plagued with review mail often. I swore I was never buying another Porsche, but a new dealer opened up in town and made things right and 2 short years later I am ordering a GTS Cayenne. I tell everyone about how Porsche USA is terrible to their customers when a real problem arrives. Porsche USA even told me that they have to take the dealers word over a customers and I am not able to speak to a district manager and my only recourse is to right a letter to customer service. They are lucky to have that new dealer in town or I might be driving a Mercedes.

Maserati is much nicer on the eyes in my opinion. I'd consider it if they were in town.

First, sorry you are having such a bad experience and best of luck with the new car - it is a beauty.

It sounds like a bad dealership with an incompetent technical staff - I would not let them do the repair. But it alarms me that you let them get away with it. I realize you are busy - I am at work at 7:30 am on Sunday so I truly do understand. Lemon law and arbitration as suggested by others are great. I like using a full page ad in a local paper (after you clear it with an attorney) telling people that in your opinion, you would not buy a toy car from these people, and standing out front with a big "don't buy here" sign, and calls to local radio, TV, and newspapers also gets attention - they put money first, that is where you hit them. Great to do it on a nice Saturday when they are worried you will drive off customers.

It is probably for the best. Now that VW owns Porsche, the 2013 911 is being rebranded the "Beetle sport" and it will come with a standard dashboard flower holder! But knowing Porsche, you will be able to get it in leather for a mere $695.00!

I used to be a die hard BMW and especially M fanatic, I grew up salivating over the brand and then I got my E60 M5 which stayed in the shop for first 3 of the 4 months of ownership. BMW did not do anything, dealer offered to let me order another one, big mistake and I took them up on it. The second one was just as bad, went through three transmissions (under warranty thankfully) with no support from BMW NA. I swore off the brand and now enjoying Porsche but based on your feedback, I am thinking this may be a widespread problem.

I don't totaly understand where you say Porsche does not care. I had may car serviced. When I filled out the Porache survey I said my only compaint was that they did not have all of the current 991 colors on their display.

I got a call the next day from the dealer saying they would look into it and got confermation the next day from Porsche to see if I was now saticfied.

Call it what you like, but I think this is spot on survice...

Sloopy -- you are impressed with the fact that a Porsche customer rep. from a call center followed up on a customer service survey?? First -- the true test of customer service is how a dealer or manufacturer deals with a problem situation. You asked nothing of Porsche so how could you possibly be dissastified? If and when you encounter a real issue (and I hope you don't) then you will find out as did I that there is virtually no concern for the customer on the part of Porcshe NA and individually we are all viewed as statisically insignificant. This may well be a problem trend with all manufacturers but going forward I personally refuse to pay the Porsche premium and financially support this arrogance/ignorance.

Porsche has no problems answering to surveys. They have problems with conflict. If I fill out a survey with an overall positive experience with one improvement they may lay the hammer on the dealer. When you get a real bad experience the dealer somehow doesn't submit you to taking a survey at all. Have a problem where you think it is under waranty, and the dealer doesn't want to repair it? No survey here, and no work done either. You can bring it to another dealer, or you can cry to your freinds because Porsche is not interested. I pushed to speak to a district manager and was told that was not possible. I was welcome to write customer service a letter and mail it.
I think car companies only answer to surveys, because that is the only thing that hurts them in the pocket. A survey of unreliability and bad service makes them look just a little worse to new customers looking at their brand for the first time, and gives a little boasting for the competition.
