I am thinking of trading in my 997 Cab on a new 991 Cab. I read about the Power Kit but when I met with the local dealer last week he said that it was not currently available. I just went on the Porsche website and played around with a build - it is now an option. $17,800 with a 7-speed manual transmission.
It really is only about $13K because this option includes the Chrono and Sport Exhaust - both of which I would get for sure.
So, what do people think: $13K for 30 more HP and some cool carbon trim in the engine compartment?

If you are a track addict and are going to redline the car a lot, you may still want to consider the performance kit though.

I don't think he stated he wants faster lap times. If so then brakes could be an appropriate recommendation. It seems he simply wants more power, hence the question.

I will stand on my soap box and beet my drum for the effects of the PCCBs.
I took my RS60 out yesterday for a jaunt and the only twisty road I could find handy is a bypassed highway that hasn't had maintenance for 30 years. The lower unsprung weight allows the wheels to better follow the surface and the grip is increased on this type of road. They also seem to be the best modulated as any breaks I have ever felt. You can go write to maximum traction and feel every bit of grip available. In addition the lower weight shows up in stopping as you have less kinetic energy to overcome from the rotational effect of the breaks.
