I put a sealer polish made for clear bras and then wax with the rest of the car.

Looks just like the none covered areas.

Just took the car in today for a front wrap to the windshield with Xpel Ultimate - they will put a sealant type of polish on the car for around $300 and according to them, won't need to wax the car for another year or so - just clay bar will do? Anyone heard of this? I trust the shop doing it completely (they are insanely good+reputable) but just haven't heard of this before. I told them to include it and figured I'd investigate it more later

A high end detailer can make it last for a year but it will be more than just a "polish".....and cost more than $300 ....thats the type of job that would take multiple hours....keep your car for a day or 2.

Would also be greatly dependent on how you maintain it throughout that year....its possible....but the way you describe it makes me skeptical.

Thanks for the input - This will be the 3rd car I've had done with Xpel with them and they are really quality guys. I was in a hurry this morning dropping the car off and should have gotten the specifics, will call them tomorrow and ask. They have the car 'till Friday.

The shop I used applied Xpel Film Sealer to all applied film at no additional cost, if this is what ou are talking about.

I wouldn't recommend Venture Shield... a bird sh** on the bra the first week that I had it installed and it left a stain even though I had a fresh coat of sealant. I immediately washed the bird sh** off and it still wouldnt come off.. the detailer told me that I should put a little alcohol on it and that didnt work. I have a black car so any swirl mark or stain will show. when drying off the car always use a clean chamois... microfiber cloths can leave slight swirl marks.. just my 2 cents

We love our custom cut Xpel Ultimate front wrap on the 991. (we also had the sides done and the door footwell area)

Before that went on though we had the sealant called Opti Guard applied to the entire car. It just helps to further protect the gorgeous anthracite brown paint and makes cleaning a bit easier as dirt and grime will come off more readily.

Metropolitan Detail in Seattle has done 3 cars for me with Xpel Ultimate (and we are very pleased..it helped sell two of the cars) but this is our first time applying the Opti Guard sealant (over the entire car) first.

I'm just really glad we have a great detail shop that we trust to go to, it makes such a difference.

I checked out Premiere and Elite. Elite had a lower price, but I wanted to make sure it was done right, so I chose Premiere. They did a great job with the protective film on our Bentley Continental GT (hood, front bumper, mirrors, trunk sill, rear wheel underside area), and with the window tinting on our Audi A7. It takes a full day to do each. Very professional, I would have no problem going back to them. One of the other cars I saw there was an Aventador, and it looked like some very tricky work around the front bumper - no wrinkles or bumpiness to the film.
