Second Post, coming From BMW...

I guess a bit on the opposite spectrum, I am adding a BMW to our stable. Yes the one that pumps fake noise into the cabin LOL. Don't be too fast to judge, I have driven the new M5 quite a few times and coming from the E60 V10 I will go record as stating that is better in every way, even the sound!! Yes they enhance it because of the massive noise deadening that comes from BMW AG but I think its a fantastic idea for a luxury sports saloon. I might try and disable the sound output and add an exhaust but more on that later.
Its not a 911 but it serves its purpose as a dual personality machine and considering some of the numbers that are coming out about its performance; its one dang fast car! I bought it because it blends in and I can go to meetings and pickup clients without getting the "wow you have a Porsche" comments.

M5 will live forever...

If I needed to drive clients around, which Realisticly I do, I would also own another M5. However, in our busy world and large SUV carrying familes, it is easier to just have Clients meet me at property.
Besides, when they say, "Wow, You have a Porsche...!" I just say it's my rental while my Lambo is in the shop...

I drive an e46 M3 and am also considering a 911S. I love the M3, and really have had no reason to replace it. Nothing BMW currently makes feels like a ten model year upgrade to me. The e46 M3 is a great everyday driver and very capable at the track, but now I'm ready for something new.
Oh, BTW, I believe I read that Porsche is also plumbing engine sound into the cabin.

Porsche introduces engine/induction noise into the cabin by a direct "pipe" from the engine with a baffle in between,....so it is genuine engine noise not a prerecorded sound track played through speakers. I have to admit I think Porsche nailed it on this one compared to BMW.
