991 C4S w/ Powerkit v 991 GT3 & Turbo
Hi guys, I would like to seek your opinions on which one to get.
I have short listed the 3 models above. GT3 & Turbo should be available in about a year or two from now.
I live in a hot tropical climate - Malaysia. I do not do tracking. This car is more like a "pride & joy" toy for me. Probably take it out once or twice a week & definitely not my everyday car.
My heart goes for the turbo but I'm not so sure if the all year round hot & humid climate is suitable for it as "heat" is the turbo's greatest enemy.
The GT3 lacks comfort creatures, rear bearable tiny seats & I do not go to the track as the car is meant to be used that way. Also is too much in the face with the huge rear wing & so forth. However, I love the NA high rev engine.
The C4S is practical & has all the creatures you can tick in the boxes. I need the Powerkit to get a bit more power at higher rev. Also is factory fitted & no warranty issue.
All opinions are welcome & cheers mate!

No doubt the 991 C2S is great leap forward in terms of handling & road holding compare the previous model: 997. I still like the traction & security of a 4WD system. It does pour quite heavily in Malaysia & you never know when it does. I have sort of discounted the GT3 as is more of a track car & is too much in the face with the imposing rear wing.
So is between the C4S & the forthcoming turbo.
Cheers mate!

you gave a lot of reasons why not to buy the first two. Buy the last...you had really already made up your mind. IMO, the power kit here is a waste of money. If you've got it to waste..... waste it on ceramic brakes

First of all I thank all those who gave me their opinions. I shall wait for the 991 turbo to be launched next year most likely Frankfurt Auto Show / Sept 2013 & take it from there as I'm not in a hurry. As it is for now I'm more inclined to take the turbo route. Thank you.

You do not need to worry about the heat and the turbos. Especially for a street driven car with factory boost. These cars are engineered for many climates.
Have you driven the 991S and been unsatisfied with the power?

Thigos: Nope, I have not driven the 991 C2S. I had a Carrera 3.0/'76 model before & I have driven a 996 C4S Tiptronic/2003 model & a 997.1 C2S Tiptronic/2005 model. I'm not going to comment about the Carrera 3.0 as it was 36 years ago. Between the 996 C4S & the 997.1 C2S. I prefer the 996 C4S with the AWD system. The 997 C2S is more responsive as it has a 3.8L motor compare to the 3.6L 996 C4S. Can't say the same about the shape of the 996 though. Still gonna wait for the 991 turbo to be launched in a about a year from now. Thank you & have a nice day mate!
