my 991 vs Challenger srt8 yellow jacket

Pulled up to this 400+ hp challenger srt8 yellow jacket. He wanted to race my 13 991 Carrera . Too bad I'm still on my break in period. Otherwise would be a good run. Me 0-60 4.4, his v8 is 4.7. I think I would win

He's driving a Challenger, your driving a 911... I think you've already won.

yes i had this VW R32 trying to race me the other night; tailgating me all the way with his highbeam on. With my wife next to me I obviously tried to ignore. However, the highbeam eventually pissed her off and who asked me to go quicker which I duely did. Put myself in sports plus and off I went; after two gentle turns on this windy road into town, I completely blew him away and even I was a bit surprised how big the difference was!

racing for pinks? Over the past few months I have found that my 991 seems to be an a**hole magnet. I am generally a courteous and cautious driver and, as my wife commented, there are lots of folks who seem to come even with the car when I am at high highway speed, tailgate and then pass around my car and seem to "floor" their accelerator. One joker did that, then slowed down and did it again two times. On his third attempt I just gave my car 2/3 throttle and I disappeared from his view.

Amazing the silly sh*t that these automobiles inspire. Never had someone on the street wearing a pair of Kenneth Cole lace-ups look down at my Ferragamo loafers and start running ahead of me (actually wish they would). The impromptu race w/a Fast ‘n Furious wannabe is a lose/lose situation - an unfortunate by-product of 911 ownership. Best to mitigate damage by ignoring the silly f*cker.

At least you got challenger srt8. In where I live, you will get Toyota with 1.6L engine trying to race you. It's so irritating and if you ignore them, you'll feel like a pansy and if you beat them, there's no glory at all!

In my black/black 997, I got the wanna race people too. In the Anthracite Brown 991, hasn't happened yet - but I get plenty of people speeding up and slowing down around the car to check it out on the highway. I will raise or lower the spoiler and wave.
