To be honest I haven't checked if it's legal
I just think that when I look at the car now my eyes are focusing more on the taillights and therefore it makes the car look wider, all that lipstick on the back is to noisy for me

I've seen it on lighter cars (Serge) and although it looks nice and clean without the red reflector I wouldn't say it makes it look "wider"...
Hence I really didn't think that it would/ could make the rear look wider but on a dark 911...but actually believe you're right!

Imagine what it would do to your C4S Cab - that already because of the lower roof line, looks wider then coupe C4S. Before my 997 TT I had a 997 C4S Cab which I named J-Lo
