deviated stitching on exclusive items

for those of you interested and perhaps on the verge of a custom order, i emailed sascha at porsche exclusive regarding deviated on exclusive items recently. he stated that currently pcna STILL does not support this, but that he anticipates being able to do so in "early 2013". according to him, there is no official start date from the german mothership yet...just to update you all.

this would matter for those interested in full interior deviated stitching, since we currently cannot get it on XHS, rear center console in leather with decorative stitching, and XNS, steering column in leather.

might mean you should wait just a bit longer if you have that killer deviated interior layout in mind. i ended up not doing this since i would have had some "blank spots" in my stitching if i did. instead i ended up picking a 2tone interior with some "built in" deviated stitching.

ps: no exterior color matching of painted seatbacks on 991 still.

I did full leather interior with deviated stitching and even though the rear console in leather does not come in deviated, the standard rear console does and has deviated stitching around the rear seat belt fasteners.

I also got the steering column in leather and thought the non deviated stitching would bug me but to be honest, I have not noticed it yet.

For the seat backs, you can have them wrapped in any colour you want. I did mine in carbon fibre and they turned out really well.

The additional dash in leather can not be have a different color stitch either. That whole program is a little weak, to say the least.

Agreed...hence why I avoided it this go around. Basically anything with "exclusive" leather options on the configurator simply can't have deviated including add'l dash in leather but should be able in the not so distant future.

Back in June, I was told to wait till August, August came and went... I decided to just go with black. I find most manufacturer customization/exclusive program more confusing than user friendly

totally agree with you mdc. my sense (after dealing with them) it that these exclusive programs represent such a small % of revenue that it is mostly a marketing facade that looks good on websites and autoshows. they are simply not well staffed enough imo to handle the total international volume that would use them if these custom z-offers were user friendly.

I had a very good experience dealing with Sasch and Melissa on a custom order. I do think that Melissa is more responsive, certainly quicker. My only criticism was how much more expensive some of the custom options are. You can get the steering column in leather with the deviated stitching but the price goes from $400 to $700. Hey but these things are outrageously expensive any way...
