How to remove 991 Mirror for Radar Mirror install
I have decided to go with the following system for my 991.
Beltronics STiR Plus
Radar Mirror
Laser Interceptor, quad diffusers
Radar Mirror is running a special if you send in your mirror and purchase the detector from them. I like the combination of stealth and performance.
So, anyone have experience removing the rear view mirror?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Nothing Hu? I am going to take a look at it today. If I have any luck I will document it. It has to be the best place to go to power a windshield mount detector so it will have value to many.

i'll be very curious to see how your install goes! i see that the radar mirror custom will retain autodimming for porsche according to the website. is that the one you ordered? personally i think this would be a much more elegant install than having the display implanted somewhere, though there have been some creative and well done installs posted. good luck and please post pics/info about your experience!

I was able to remove the mirror easily enough by rotating it clockwise.
Here is the base of the mirror I removed the 2 #10 torx screws thinking the wire would detach there but it is hard wired.
The covers on the base of the mirror also removed easily enough with some clips.
Here is the base it was mounted to. Note the small wire with push on clip. that must be removed. The main wire is run through routing clips it must be pulled out of the clips to get some slack. It does not appear that this plate is able to be removed from the mirror.
I tried to get some photos up under the head liner to figure out how to disconnect the mirror harness but I was not able to see enough or figure it out. Does anyone have knowledge of this connector? I believe the connector on the left is the one I need to disconnect.
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks, that was the first place I went. I am going to revisit him to see if he has a photo of the connector.

I got the mirror out last night. This is the connector that needs to be dealt with.
The black plastic holds the two sides of the connectors in place. Gently pop the connector out of the black clip holding it and pull it apart.
I'll post the whole detector/laser diffuser install when I get it done.
I am going to get PSE installed by the dealer I was going to try and get them to install the rear diffusers when they have the bumper off and leave the wires where the 12V installer can get at them.
Honestly letting an installer mess with the car give me cause for concern but I am not sure me doing it is any better. The guy I am going to use has been doing it for 25 years and has much more experience then me.
