Pictures like that make me wish we have snow here so we can take our cars out for fun in the winter wonderland

I got an extra set of carrera classics with winter tyres from the dealer. My dealer has a tyre storage plan where they store your other set and provide 2 sets of changes for 340 per year. Not too bad a deal.
Did you have an additional set of tpms sensors installed on the winter set or is it cheaper/easier to just have the original ones transferred?

We're lucky that we generally get a few days of snow a year. The snow last about 3 days at a time and then its gone. Just enough to enjoy the novelty and then be done with it.

Many thanks. The cars and snow are great subjects.

Darren, good on you for getting out there in that pile of snow! Glad that you continue to have a blast in that car!

Pic alert!

I better start this post by hoping that I'm not hijacking this thread by posting pcar snow pics here. This thread seems to have become the appropriate place for them. So moderators please feel free to move this post around or out if you see fit... no offence taken.

We got a dusting of snow yesterday so I took a few pics this morning.

Haku,
You must be one of those guys that gets off a 20 hr flight and does not have a single wrinkle in your clothing! How do you manage to keep your car pristine whilst driving through the snow? Mine looks a mess as soon as I pull it out of the garage! . Is there some detailing super product I am missing out on?

You winter drive shots compared to mine are like beauty and the beast!

Hehehe... To be honest I took those pics just after pulling the car out of the garage. Whilst the car may look pristine, the state of my clothing at the best of times is wrinkleworks central. My wife will attest to that!

I admire your beast D! It's being used as it should be.

Oh, with regards to the detailing super product.... it doesn't come in a bottle, its an affliction, Clean Car Syndrome!

My guess is those are the 'before' shots. He pushed the car into position and took some pictures. If he post some 'after' pics, they would look similar to yours. It looks amazingly clean.

I would not worry about 2-3 inches. The snow I was running around in was 3-4 with some ice. Going up and down hills and steep driveway. Much more than that and you are going to have a clearance issue before you have a traction issue. Modern day snow tires are amazing. A couple of years ago I drove an S4 Audi with snows through 2.5 feet of snow. The car had issues with all of the intakes filling with snow before it even came close to s=getting stuck.

I'm with you. I bought mine to drive and enjoy every day. While it has been great on the dry days, being able to drive it in the snow has added another dimension to it. And I've had it full Christmas shopping and taking kids to school, etc. Don't care if other people look at me funny. I'm not driving a minivan!

That is the beauty of 911, it is fairly low key and does not attract much attention. Because it is common sight to see a 911(maybe not so much 991 on a daily basis) but there are a lot of 997, 996, 993 etc, throw in boxster, Cayman, Cayenne, Pana, this make the 991 an all around user friendly sport car.
