Also, I doubt very much Porsche will revive 993 in the future as they don't reuse series numbers (or at least never have).

You're making me feel old. I will be 70 in April. Have a 991S Cab on order and am keeping my '04 996 TT Cab also. No issues on getting in and out at all. Have been driving 911's since 1972 (new one is my 13th Porsche).
