Need feedback on my 2013 991S configuration
#16
I would go straight luxor beige, that two tone interior looks odd to me. Also, the glare on the dash is not a problem, I barely notice it. Although with Platinum silver, I would select the Espresso Natural leather as it is worth it over the standard. Furthermore, I would choose a darker interior for a daily driver, Luxor is for the weekend car.
Sports Chrono is a must due to the rev matching and dynamic engine mounts. The Porsche crest on headrests is not seen in a coupe, and it's cheaper to buy the center console crest at Suncoast.
The Carrera S wheels in platinum look amazing in person, the pictures on the web do not even come close to doing them justice.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I thought i was close to locking down my config now so much to think about
I'm definitely re-thinking sport chrono and PSE. I'm more likely to jump on PSE because when I test drove the car without PSE, even in Sport mode, I noticed the engine sound was not as loud as i would have liked/expected. Given I plan to keep it for a long time, I don't want to be regretting that down the road.
Any other comments on Luxor Beige for people who use the car as a daily driver? My last two cars have had a grey or black interior, so I'm looking to change things up. I keep my car interiors very clean, but certainly don't want to accumulate scuffs over the years.
I will keep the PASM Sport Suspension. seems like it's worth it for the money. I didn't find the normal ride too firm.
I will keep the sunroof as well. I use it all the time in California. Like the open air feel. If I thought Targa was coming out soon I would probably go for that.
I will keep Park Assist as well. I didn't get the earlier comment about not knowing how to drive. I enjoy a good parking challenge as much as the next guy but have no desire to ding up the bumpers.
Thanks again everybody for your help.

You might want to consider the base 991, based on the type of anticipated usage you have described. If you only expect to use 65% of it's performance, and don't want stuff like SC, you should be very satisfied with the base and also save some money in the process.
Luxor biege does see some glare complaints.
SC is really not all that, with MT.

I have Luxor Biege and I love it. The light color seems to open the interior up a bit and make it brighter. I understand what everyone is saying about the reflection of the beige dash on the interior of the windshield. When I first noticed it, I said "what the heck" but after driving it a while, guess I am use to it and really don't even notice it anymore.

don't bother with bose. either go burmester or just leave the standard stereo. Bose is a waste of money. That $2,420 on the bose will get you some nice Dynaudio two ways and a decent amp which will blow away the bose. stock stereo's sound like garbage, the burmester is the exception. even the audi b&o system sounds like a transistor radio.

I have the full luxor beige, and it is fantastic. The problem I have with the two-tone is it is black in the wrong places. It should just be the glare shield, upper dash, and floor carpet, the rest should be luxor especially the Alcantara ceiling. I don't understand why Porsche left all the parts that can get dirty in Luxor, and all the parts that don't in black?
The glare on the windshield is really not an issue for me, I don't mind it at all. I will say that it is there though, and definitely more so compared to the darker colors. Also, the red has a bit of a glare too.

I have the 2-tone on order because of comments on the forums and from the PNA consultants. I do agree that there are a couple of items that are black which I would have preferred be LB. You can get this done using the ZZ options but it gets crazy expensive and not worth it in my opinion. I have seen the LB and the LB 2-tone and have now come to like the 2-tone.
A final comment/recommendation. Don't hurry the process. If you are not sure go see and better yet test drive some vehicles. You can go on the product locator and make some road trips if the local guys don't have what you want. I travel a fair amount domestically part of my job and I would always check out the local dealers inventory. Once I locked my car I almost missed the daily grind of reading, configurator, reading, configuration... Take your time and enjoy.

If you are keeping the car for a while, I would definitely recommend the SC. I would recommend driving one with SC to see if you like it.
I have full Luxor beige leather interior with deviated stitching. As others have said, initially, I noticed the slight glare but after a few weeks of driving, I stopped noticing it. I really like how the beige interior brightens up the cabin. I have the glass roof and between that and the beige, I could not be happier. If you search my username, you will find threads on my interior etc with pics. Hope that helps.

Can't find a dealer in the Bay Area with a PSE-optioned car in stock that I can listen to.
Dealer also recommended deviated carpeting so that i get black carpets in front footwell rather than beige. Beige will stain quickly. I can't seem to find where to configure this in the online configurator, and how much it costs. Anybody know?
Also, how much more does Black PDLS cost versus standard PDLS? Anybody know?
