Placed my order today
I have lurked for the better part of the year and gained a ton of information. Ultimately decided not to buy a 2012 GTS and ordered a 991 S today. Here is my build:
Agate Grey
Premium Package
Black Full Leather
Delete Model Designation
Park assist (front and year)
Electric Folding Mirrors
No Sunroof
PDK
Sports Chrono
20 inch Carerra S wheels
Wheel center caps with crest
Power Sport Seats (14 way)
Sport Design Wheel
Ultimately, I decided at the last moment not to do PDCC or PSE.

Congrats! You will love the car. Sensible options.
PDCC you won't miss. The car handles better than most drivers can drive it. PSE is fun to have but mine has been rattling lately. I am going to ask to have it changed under warranty. Will keep an eye on it for now.

I have a 15 March build but we shall see. It may be pushed a little or it be built sooner. I agree that it is options independent. If memory serves me the only delay last year was down to the glass sunroof but that has been resolved. At least I hope so because it is in my build.

Great for you! Now comes the hard part.... the waiting...... and waiting... an update... more waiting. And that's just the first week. What I really hated was when they told me it was in the port that was only 4 hrs away. I still had to wait another week!! It's like your first prom and waiting for it to end to just get away from the chaperones!

You have a "build-friendly" options, shouldn't be any delay. I like to think schedule depends on demand and other variables. I waited an additional 3 months just to find out they can't do deviated stitch on some exclusive options. If I have know that, I would have gone red stitching and not border with a few of the exclusive options.

Phase 1: get the options right...many days / hours on Configurator
Phase 2: order locked, wait starts
Phase 3: you get the vin number, it now exists
Phase 4: gets loaded on the boat, wait starts
Phase 5: boat docks, car unloads, your patience begins to shrink
Phase 6: days turn into hrs, hrs turn in to minutes, you hope it's here any minute, it doesn't show up after almost 10 days and you want to hurt someone or yourself...but then...you check P-forums countless times a day...it works as a therapy...until you get the call you've been waiting for... <== I'm here but no call yet ...you'll have to experience it to know it...it's that feeling! But when you get the car...as you said, you'll say to yourself, it was totally worth it!!!
Congrats my friend and welcome!

Congrats from another SF porsche addict. Having the car built the way you want is the most rewarding thing, worth the wait because it will be your one of a kind... I think if your not a track junkie then no PDCC is a good choice. And PSE can always be installed later if you change your mind, but if your fine with the stock exhaust then "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

My thoughts exactly. I struggled with PDDC but ultimately decided that it was a cost/complexity I probably could live without and I can always install PSE later if the mood strikes me.
