Car is completed!!!!
Just got the email from the dealer that my car is complete. Next step is transport. He says he will let me know when it gets on the vessel and what the vessel name is!! It's almost surreal. The fact that it finally 'exists' is almost unbelievable! I feel like I have been waiting forever, and its only been a couple of months.
On a side note, shouldn't he be able to give me the VIN now???
I feel as excited as Sid's dancing girls, but not technical enough to display them in my post.

1) Yes, your dealer should have the VIN now - I think that gets added after the paint shop, IIRC, and certainly by the time it's done.
2) There's some kind of quantum physics at work apparently, because every time you look up the ship's position online the ship is no closer and is instead filling up with cats that are both dead and alive at the same time. Of course not all delivery experiences are the same, so maybe yours will seem faster.
Very cool, the car is almost in sight - and well worth waiting for!

Hahaha here ya go buddy!
Although the one in the pink represents the wide body a bit better than my girls did... but hey maybe they can all party together, whoopwhoop...whoopwhoop ...who...
Every body needs some dancing girls!
Regarding your VIN... yes that's the first thing I got from my dealer when he told me the car had finished production.
BTW since your car is done now it means are cars should be on the same vessel on Feb1st.

As long as you keep Freuds twisted mind away from my baby I'm gonna say our Porsche's are not just alive and kicking but are having a party on that tin can... ahem.. I mean vessel of course... very well build quality one at that... knock on wood.
Thanks for the laugh!

Sid- how do you know your car will be on the vessel Feb 1st? Do you know what the vessel name is? I am really hoping for that info from my dealer ASAP! Will be both fun any painfully slow keeping track of it on the ship.

You're right it will be another agonizing 4 to 6 weeks but in my case this agony will feel like being tickled after the torture which followed when I placed my deposit 11 months ago!! thinking the C4S would be released in the summer!
6 weeks I should be able to do standing on my head hehehe.
You'll see it'll go faster than you think.

I got an email that my finish date is now Feb 1st - figures the ship leaves that day. I bet I will end up having to wait until the next one sales on the 15th. My dreams of early March delivery are fading...

What is the actual trip time across the pond? I know it can be stuck in port on both sides bout not sure I ever heard the actual travel time in the water. In my case to the east coast, RI I think.

Those Germans know what they're doing!

I think for my next Porsche, I'm just gonna move to Germany so I can just drive straight to the factory to pick it up. This waiting months for my car is making me nuts!!!

I did the same thing..
Re, delays, I was just kidding with ya.
As a matter of fact... most of this years builds have been moved UP!
Regardless, you'll have your 991 just in time for spring and what a spring it will be!

Thanks Darren yes that helps a lot. Not sure I want to get my hopes up, cause who knows what delays there could be. However that would mean there is a great chance I might have my car in hand before the 15th of Feb!
Wow, I need to go in vacation or something. I need some kind of distraction for the next few weeks. I have already looked up ship tracking sites and webcams for Bremerhaven.
Oh crap, it's gonna be a long next few weeks!!!
