Way to go!

As far as the break in part, a Porsche factory service rep once told me - "Don't baby these cars, what do you think they were designed for in the first place?"

Good looking car....

I only managed to keep my 997 C2S cab for 7 months before deciding I had to have the 991.

Congratulations. I'm in the process of trading in my turbo (ran out of cpo) for a new c4s. Third car I bought from the same salesman (who is a great guy and a real pro). Dang 911s are like crack.

Is your 991 a cab? I didn't buy a 997 cab because of the lack of stiffness. Is the 991 cab stiff?

It is a coupe.

I never put the top down on the 997 C2S or my previous Boxster S so I went with the coupe as I liked the looks and visibility better.

And we both made a good choice. Truth be told, it would not have been bad too keep the 997 either. Drive in good health!

I droves cab after I took possession of my coupe. It is, from memory, stiffer than my 997 cab. It is still not as stiff as the coupe, but it did gain some ground, IMHO. If you are taking it to the track you still need the coupe. I love the look of the unbroken roofline of the coupe. But every time it is nice I still question my decision. I used to have the top down on my cab every chance I could.

Biggest problem was living in fear of birds ( when the top was up). The material was hard to clean without leaving a spot and you could not rub. It looks great, but the vinyl on my Mustang drop top is much easier to maintain.

I love the story and car! I've done the same thing 3 times...GT3RS, Cayenne Turbo and now my C4S (due to me within a week!!!). Seriously...I am staying away from dealerships for a few years!

What a fantastic community this is. Humbled to be part of it. Thanks for making me feel so welcome.

T-minus 12hrs to liftoff (pickup)

Question is will I still have my drivers license after a 250 mile drive from NY to DC?

Will have to show restraint which lets face it, is unlikely. The car will be screaming go, I'm ready and I know you want to...

I hope your ride down from NY was fun! Weather was cold but at least clear.
