TriState Area Meetup (NY/NJ/CT)

Will-do. Should have it up tomorrow.

Have you chosen a breakfast joint yet for those who are leaving earlier? There are diners on RT. 4 right after the GW to eat at and we get also get some cheap NJ gas before we head up the Palisades to the meeting point. Do you also know how to cross-post this discussion on the 997 Forum. Are you guys also on Rennlist too?
I would rather not cross-post this all over the forums. Drives can get out of hand when too many people show up. If we open this up too much we will have even more difficulty re-gathering along the way and we will overwhelm the small restaurant for lunch.
I have no problem having other cars join, but I'd like to keep it to people in this thread or people invited by people in here. This was supposed to be an informal get together and drive. If, down the line, we want to do something big with the entire (huge) Porsche community in the area, that could probably be arranged, but would require a LOT more planning and a number of different driver's very familiar with the area to lead groups.
Thanks!

For your consideration and for sports nuts,,, might I suggest 'The Stadium Restaurant' in Garrison.
The moment you walk through our doors you will be overwhelmed by the ambiance, the décor and the thousands of sports memorabilia items on display. One of the largest private collections around.
Food & drink is pretty good too.

Brian, can you upload a PDF of the details (map, timing, breakfast, lunch and proposed route details) once finalized? It may also make sense to set up a specific twitter account for up-to-date info. Thanks

I'd say the more the better....!
As long as they are nice people....they don't even need to be Porsches....
Plus, in the end, there will be the usual 30% not attending....
Darren, are you in?

OK, guys... I think I've had in my head that this was going to be an organized, group drive, but I don't think that really makes sense considering that we don't have any idea of group size and people seem to have different plans. I'm sorry if I've taken us off track.
I'm thinking that the best plan at this point is to keep this very informal and just roll with it on Saturday.
Here is how I want to leave things:
Gathering location is State Line Lookout parking area at 9:00am.
Gathering Point
People can stay here and meet for as long as they like.
I'll probably head out for a drive north sometime around 10:00am to enjoy the roads and scenery. I will bring print outs of a route that I think is good for anybody who might not know the area and would be interested in using them.
I'll finish the drive around 12:00 or 12:30 in Peekskill at Birdsall House for some good food and beer. Anyone who wants to join for lunch is welcome!
Birdsall House
Cool?
Looking forward to it!

Sounds good. Hopefully we will hit route 6 south from the Bear Mountain Bridge. There is 5 mile section that's just awesome, although the traffic can spoil the fun (its one lane in each direction).

It's certainly on my planned route! That's definitely a good stretch.

Thanks brianja, for the planning. I think that your last is the best plan. It has the benefit of flexibility.
Look forward to meeting you all.
