FTPO: E92 M3 to C4S. Speechless...
#16
Hi all:
New member here! I kinda hoped my first post would be catchy and substantive but the experience so far has me absolutely speechless. I dove into Porsche ownership over the weekend and leased a 991 C4S with 7MT. I am a long time M3 owner having owned E36, E46 and E92 variants. I am absolutely in love with my C4S and really glad i threw down the extra $$$.
Very first thing I did today was get the windows tinted. I have been getting some mean/hateful looks from people!! What a bunch of haters. Anyhow, not going to stop my parade. The AWD and the handling is wildly different than what i'm used to but it's pretty easy to get on board with! Haven't really opened it up much yet, but man, can this thing corner.
Here are some pics for now. Will keep the group posted on mods and a more detailed reviews/comparo with other cars i've driven.
Looking forward to contributing and learning with the community.
Thanks!

Barrier is the 8th largest Porsche dealer in the US. 4 miles to Microsoft HQ. Many, many 911s around.

Do you live on the East Side? If so, the mean looks are because they know that your spoiler is not broken in the UP position. They know you put it manually to impress them. They're not.

Congrats! nice move!
now you reminded me when I swapped an M3 I loved with my first 997,
I was so taken from the way the 997 steer , the clutch and overall how delicate it handles. Was wondering if you could offer some direct comparisons and comment in general on all aspects.
The main difference to me was the clutch and steering response...

And since coffee is so big out there, I will let you in on something that probably everyone else in the 991 world figured out, and I just discovered after a year - when you open the chrome trim to reveal the cup holders and then pop one or both out, you can move the center strip back into its original position - keeping the look of the trim, cutting down on rattles, and locking the holders in place. Who knew

Of course you can.
You can always put the original parts back on before giving the car back. If left installed, some mods may devalue the car and cause a financial hit.

[QUOTE=TTCarrera;3810359]West side is known to be very socialistic.
My west side (Los Angeles) is like that too. I just ignore them. I am not going to let them influence what I drive.
Motor on!
