Wind noise on cab

I have a cab and have noticed wind noise, like a whistle, on the drivers side at highway speeds since I got my car about a month ago. I was hoping it had more to do with the cold weather and it not sealing perfectly, but its been pretty warm lately and it's still there. I have an appt this week to have it looked at. Has anyone else experienced this? If so id appreciate knowing what the ddi to resolve it. The passenger side is very quiet so I'm hoping its not an overly complicated fix.

I'm at 1985 miles so basically thru the breakin period, which is great! The car has been amazing, even with 2 car seats in the back and the trunk stuffed for a family vacation. Only real issue is this wind noise, so I can't really complain. Now that the weather mis warming up all I want to do is drop the top and drive!!

No whistles or wind noise of any sort in 6500 miles, have been amazed by the quality of the top and seals - definitely have them fix it.

Well to be fair I took a 1400 mile trip last week in the car. If I was only driving around town it would take me months to get up to 2k miles. The manual does say take long trips to break the engine in, so who am I to argue

CO997,

Did you end up getting clear bra on both mirrors? And can you feel the air leak or just hear it? If you can feel it, then it is a true adjustment of the window that must be done. Generally an easy fix on a coupe. I am sure it will not be that much harder on the cabrio. If you can't feel the leak and just hear it, it's the clear bra on the mirror. Unfortunately it means you will have to take it off the mirror or live with the noise. Typically wind noise with clear bra on the mirror occurs over 60 mph. This was my experience as well.

Interesting observation, I had not thought about the film on the mirrors being the issue. I do have it there, so that could be an issue, but the noise is not present on the passenger side and that mirror also has the film on it. I'm hoping its more of a window adjustment issue. The noise seems to come from behind my head, back near where the 2 windows come together but it's not easy to tell.

I understand. I have it on both my mirrors as well and you only hear it on the drivers side. Let us know what you find out. But that was my problem. Good luck.

I don't have a cab, but I do have bra on the mirrors and I don't have a noise. Perhaps it's the way they made the cuts. I attached a picture of mine. You really can't really see the cuts in the daylight, I had to work hard to get the reflection so you could see it, but note that it only covers part of the mirror.

Check the weather stripping and smaller rubber trims. Sometimes they fold and cause leaks in seals

Stopped by the dealer on Sat. They were able to isolate the issue and resolve it. Seems my windows were not set to close properly and it was a fairly simple adjustment. Have to say it is a much nicer ride without that whistling noise right beside my ear.

On a side note I asked about having the smokers package put in the car, as I forgot to pick that 'free' option. He said it will run me about $500 to have it installed. I'd expect it to already be wired, and it can't be that hard to install. Maybe I can just order the part and install myself???

Go to Suncoastparts.com or call them it's seems like they always have everything you need as far as factory parts and they are fast. I've ordered parts for my car that is not even here yet but they had the parts to me within 3 days.

I have asked about pre-wiring in the past and was told at Porsche factory in Stuttgart that nothing is pre-wired on car as each one is a custom build. Reason for not pre-wiring is if every option was pre-wired the weight of car would increase by several pounds and could reduce gas mileage goals for government standards. Do you need the electrical socket or are you just wanting the clean look of having the cover on the hole?

I called Suncoast and was told they can get the part, but they have not been able to get it to work. So Windboat, you appear to have the correct answer, that each is wired differently and not premiered for things not installed. Bummer.
My reason for getting it was for the battery tender, clean look is just a bonus.
