SxxB is infamous around these partsSxxB is infamous around these parts

As you know, HP is not measured. Torque is measured and from that HP curve is calculated using a very simple formula.
HP = Torque x RPM ÷ 5252

This means that Torque and HP should intersect at 5252 RPM.

Due to different axis scaling, Porsche managed to have 991S torque and HP intersect at 6250RPM. Looks a little deceiving to me.

this is because the scales are not the same. if you adjusted the torque scale to be from 54 to 408 they would intersect at 5252

This means that Torque and HP should ALWAYS intersect at 5252 RPM.

Yet somehow, Porsche managed to bend the laws of mathematics and have 991S torque and HP intersect at 6250RPM. Caught right handed! FAKERS!

Porsche really should get their charts right. The Tech manual says that the 3.8L crosses at 6100 and the 3.4 crosses at 7000.

I believe you're right. So much for that conspiracy theory. But I still think they're cheating a little bit by using different scales

I think this is due to different scaling of axis. Still, it looks a little misleading when you keep rescaling the axes, and typically its not done by tuners. Just look at the dyno chart of Champion's power kit that was posted recently.

I agree, it's a chart issue, but engineers don't usually like to have misleading charts and these are in the tech manual, not a marketing brochure.

The dyno printouts they include are for public consumption. They don't look like any engine or chassis dyno I have ever seen.

If anything Porsche understates their numbers.

Most of the P cars perform much better than their stated horsepower numbers.
