Fitment for 19" wheel

I'm having some trouble with wheels I bought from Tirerack. I got the Breyton GTSR-PF 19" wheels (there is a post by Damon@tirerack advertising them: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...-tirerack.html ).

They don't show up when shopping for the 991, but do for the 997. I called to order, just to confirm they would fit the car. The offsets for the Breytons in the rear are 63, which seems in line with the other 19's available on tire rack (56-65). The problem appears to be that the inner diameter isn't wide enough to clear the arm below the rear rotor. I attached a photo.

The arm cuts in about 10mm, then there is a deep outer lip on the wheel (which looks deep enough for the arm). I've attached photos. Now keep in mind, even on the 20's that come on the car, this arm has at most about an inch of clearance. When I raise the car up, I see the arm rotate slightly, but it doesn't appear to get any closer to the wheel.

What are people's thoughts here? Will tire rack just take an exchange for something that will definitely fit? Can I make these work with the 15mm spacers (already ordered)? I'm really sad these don't fit. I was hoping to use them at the track this weekend. They've got r888's mounted.

Thanks for any feedback!

It looks to me that a 15mm spacer should take care of that, since the hub is fixed relative to the wheel.

If you look at this photo from Edmund's suspension walk around, you can see that the part that is hitting is part of the hub and therefore won't move relative to the wheel. Moving the wheel 15mm away from that should solve that.

Interesting, though, the standard wheels on the C2S are 19". Most came with an optional wheel. I'd be interested to see a picture of the stock 19" from the same angle. Probably either has a thinner barrel or a lower offset?

Thanks. I think it will work, but I'm still not quite sure. Remember, it's giving 15mm of space front to back, not in toward the center. The joint does seem to rotate, but it doesn't appear to move in and out, so I really do hope this fixes it.

If it doesn't, though, has anyone had any experience with returns/exchanges with tire rack for something like this?

I was considering ordering this same wheels for my c2s, (on order), I have allready ordered 14mm spacers for the rear wheels and 7mm for the front.
Please post if the 15mm spacers solve the problem. I asume there are no problems in the front, even w/o spacers?

They arrive tomorrow and I'll let you know. It looks like as long as the part clears, they'll be fine, since it's solidly joined to the rotor and does not move independent of the wheel.

thats really interesting as the base 991 comes w/ 19in et69. I've always thought the base and S had the same suspension set up. Which model do you have?

I have an S. I went to the dealer yesterday, and both the S and base have that control arm hanging down, but they didn't have any 991s with 19" wheels. Also interesting, that arm isn't nearly as big on any of the other Porsche models, including the 997 turbos.

I had this exact problem with my 19" HRE. HRE changed the design on their barrel to accommodate the lower control arm. Now, i've got about 3-4mm of clearance between the control arm and the barrel of the wheel. That particular point remains static, so you won't have to worry about it bending and rubbing.

Not all 19" wheels will clear the 991S. You have to be very careful about offset and barrel size. The 991's suspension is completely different than that of the 997, so there isn't any interchangeability between generations. Also, don't forget that the width of the 991 even in base form is generally that of a wide body 997, so that impacts the offsets as well.

The 15mm spacers did not work. Close, but the arm still touches. Has anyone tried to deal with exchanges like this with tire rack??? I tried to ask Damon@tirerack on multiple threads, but there is never an answer. When I called to ask if they would fit, the said yes, but did tell me the rolling diameter was different. I'm pretty frustrated.

I hope things have worked out regarding an exchange. there should be no reason why they would not take back something they list as "compatible" on their site.

Not sure if I should start another thread but I'm in the same boat and I would like to know which 19" aftermarket wheels fit. My Volk TE37SL's arrived and the rear 19x12 wheels did not clear (ET65). Not even close. My 18mm rear spacers were no match.
Not looking to buy HRE for some track time. Is Tire Rack's fitment suggestions accurate? I seriously doubt it as I see some wheels listed that have no chance of clearing the lower control arms on any 991. OZ ultraleggera ? maybe...
Strictly speaking, the rears are the issue. Front wheels are fine.
What aftermarket 19s are people running for track ? Please provide a link if possible.

Oz ultraleggerra hlt fits

I am using 19" oz ultraleggerra hlt and it fits my 2013 c2s. I know that 19" oz superforgiatta fits as well.

Looks like I'm gonna try the 19x11 Volks (vs 19x12) and if these don't clear then Ultraleggerra it is...

I dont know but the 19" Carerra wheels on the base 991 should fit (ET69):

But for $4k plus plus for a set, it's worth looking for alternate wheels.
