Anyone know the names of any vessels en route to US ports?
Hi all - I have a MY 2013 991 C2S on order that completed production on May 9th. My dealer told me today that my car is already on a vessel en route from Port of Emden to Rhode Island (ahead of schedule, as Porsche software was showing departure from Emden between 5/24 and 5/31). The dealer doesn't know the name of the vessel, but says his software is showing the car will be delivered in mid-June, though he suspects it will arrive early. Does anyone have a car en route to the USA or otherwise know what vessel my car might be on? Would like to track the vessel's progress if I can. Thanks!

Seems like a lot of forum members used vesselfinder.com, oceanschedules.com/schedules/search.do, and http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/ Good luck.

I just looked and I believe you ship is bangkok highway. That is what mine was on and it is currently enroute to Davisville PA which is Rhode Island and its almost there. The ETA date appears to be off but the ship is either almost in port or just leaving port. Good luck!

My car was on Seven Seas Highway, landed in Halifax, then off to Houston I think. Don't think its stopping in RI.
My dealer did not tell me the name either, you will have to search a few sites, and try to find the ships that leave Emden around the date your dealer tells you and their destinations. The Porsche software is not always accurate.

Thanks for all of your responses! It looks like Bangkok Highway arrived at Davisville on 5/20 (and has since left port). Not sure that would have been enough time for my car to have completed production and been loaded onto the ship, but who knows. I'll try to get a vessel name or at least date of departure from Emden from my dealer.

If the car was completed on the 8th which sometimes even that is not accurate but if It is I was told that cars may come right off the line and go straight on the ship and sometimes they can wait for a ship up to a week or so. The the timing maybe just right. If I'm remembering the boat ride over was 10 or 11 days. I guess you will find out.
You have me wondering now. You will have to dig into that a little bit. My dealer was able to tell me the ship name and ports of call, the whole 9 yards.
I can't imagine any other dealer not having that info unless they are being lazy.

Here is a sample, my info. No ship vessel name though, I had to figure it out, but not difficult.

Ship actually arrived in Halifax on the 20th, and the car has been released for PDI. 911s are shipped in enclosed containers on trucks in Canada....so it wont take long to get to me in Toronto once its loaded. Hopefully be the end of next week I should have the car.
I wish Porsche would spend the $$$ and get a proper system like BMW.

Thanks for all of the responses! I've narrowed it down to either the Bangkok Highway or, more likely, the Tianjin Highway which left Emden on 5/17 and is scheduled to arrive in Davisville on 5/26. So either way, hopefully not too much longer to go. I agree it would be nice if Porsche would have the same system as BMW. It was very easy to track my M3 through the production and delivery process when I went through this 3 years ago.

mine is on the COSCO TENGFEI

suppose to arrive at Brunswick on 5/26. Since I'm on the west coast, I assume it will go to San Diego from there.. anyone has experience what the usual schedule is? (times from Brunswick -> ?? -> San Diego -> Dealer?)
Btw, this ship tracking stuff is pretty cool.. it's all done by amateurs who place VHF antennas and submit their data.. that's the reason you can't track the ships once they are at open sea (out of range ;-)

Is it correct there is only one monthly ship with Porsche vehicles for west coast US (San Diego)? If so, does anyone know approx what time of the month the ship sails from Germany and typically (or always) from which port?

My C2S is on the Green Cove, scheduled to arrive at San Diego on Aug. 20.
It left Emden on July 24th, according to www.marinetraffic.com
Hope this helps.

You can check arrivals/departures of ships at the Port of San Diego on this website: www.sdmis.org/schedule
