19" wheels for C2S for track days???

On track I run 19" Carrera Classics from the 997 C2S narrow body, with R888's. Paid $1150 on eBay for a like new set. Strong and OEM. Fits well though not a ton of clearance in the front to the caliper (pay attention to the offsets)
Double check the offsets but I think lobster claws or 997.1 Turbo I wheels are also a good way to go, and in the case of the lobster claws you won't find a better strong wheel -- guys are practically giving those away.

Yes, I am using it with Toyo R888 as my track wheels. I have driven on it at Laguna Seca once so far. It is slightly lighter than stock and looks quite nice on my aqua blue metallic 991 S.

However, the 997's Carrera Sports are 1/2in wider at 8.5.
Separately the sizes of the 20's wheels on the 991S are:
F: 8.5 x 20 ET 51
R: 11 x 20 ET 70

I also got 19" BBS CH-Rs with Michelin Pilot Super Sports from Tire Rack. I just asked for the proper Super Sport to fit and did not ask what the "profile" would be or thought about comparing it to the profile of my stock 20" wheels/tires.
Tire Rack wants the wheels/tires to have equal rolling circumference. The tires on the 19" wheels look a little "fat" in comparison.
Nonetheless, I just returned from Watkins Glen from a DE and am pleased to report that the Super Sport is a great tire for this car. Had half a day of rain and they really are super in the wet. The 991 is a really well balanced car. My prior track car was a 2007 GT3 and had a pretty good tendency to understeer. Not the 991 though, after two days it just stayed where you planted it.
As a side note, I have the PDCC option. After the first run, I checked the tire pressures and while all pressures were higher, the tires on the left side, (clockwise rotation at the Glen) were both 5 degrees higher than their counterparts on the right side of the car. I surmise that the PDCC is very effective at moving the load to the outside of the car in turns. Maybe by keeping a wider contact patch it allows more heat to build up in the tire.
Tire wear was good as the car was used in two different run groups.

what tire sizes are you running? I just placed the order a OZ Ultraleggera with R888s. My only worry is the wheels clearing my brembo 380mm kit

The tires on the 19" BBS wheels are 235-40 front, 295-35 rear.
As delivered were 245-35 front and 295-30 rear. Not much difference in numbers but I think the rear tires in particular look almost fat on the 19" rims.

I don't think they make R888's or any R-comps in that size. I wonder how track performance will be impacted by having a larger sidewall? Others have said the smaller rolling diameter works fine.

Are you referring to the sidewall height? Race cars use a high sidewall but the tires are designed that way. Not sure if the MPSS or r888 like high sidewalks.

I'm hoping the Volk Racing TE37sl rear 19x11(+63) will clear the rear control arms of my 991.C4S. The front wheels are fine but the 19x12 (+65) rears, originally ordered, did not. They did not clear with 7mm spacers.
This time around I plan to install the 19x11 with RSS 18mm spacers on. Really hope it works! Anyone else running TE37s?
