Does the wrap affect the front Park Assist?

Also, know a great installer in the Southern California Area?

As long as the film is installed properly it will not affect the sensors as there are cutouts made for them.

Give Prestige Film Technologies a call to see if they have an authorized dealer in your area:

www.prestige-films.com

408-657-3880 or vtran@prestige-films.com

Good luck!

By comparison, here is a 997 that just came in to get things redone. (Work was not performed by us initially) Customer used a company that was more inexpensive than us. The installer tried redoing it twice and the owner of this car decided to take his loss and come in for us to redo the whole thing:

Can you recommend an installer near Philadelphia? The dealer's sub has installed a clear bra and it is still a terrible job.

Unfortunately not, but the manufacturer of ClearGuardX (the brand we use exclusively), Prestige Film Technologies may have an authorized dealer near you. Give them a call directly:

408-657-3880 or vtran@prestige-films.com

Things to watch out for:
1. cuts in paint from inexperienced installers using a razor
2. precut template vs. custom (some precut installers are better than custom, but keep in mind there is no universal rating for each).
3. try to look at the work in person if possible - this is the best indication of what to expect on your car
4. Experience, experience, experience - there are many new installers on the market claiming to have more experience than they really do, so beware. Some installers are actually just sub-contracting work out and claiming it be their own. Either way, due diligence and look for online reviews.

Good luck.

I cannot help but notice how much different the paint clarity has become.
Clearly shown from the uncovered area vs clear film area.

The film on the blue 911 is 3M. The film that we use exclusively is Prestige Film Technologies ClearGuardX. It's a very clear film. You can learn more about their product on their site: www.prestige-films.com

or if you need an authorized dealer:

408-657-3880 or vtran@prestige-films.com

Thanks for this. What about the film itself? Could you elaborate the advantage of ClearGuard vs 3M, Xpel etc? Would appreciate any science behind the film properties pls. Cheers.

We had found that one of the newer products from testing tore a lot easier than ClearGuardX. Had a vehicle we used with the self-healing product and there was a nick in the film, which the owner of the 991 tried to tear off, it continued to tear in a long streak of 6" from where the initial 3mm nick. Needless to say he was irritated. We spoke to the manufacturer of this product and they did acknowledge that it has a "softer" clearcoat, which is why it tore through the way it did.

As for 3M, it's product has way too much orange peel texture for us to even consider it. For now, we do not see any downsides to continual usage of ClearGuardX especially with its clarity.

How about a comparison with Xpel Ultimate?

This is the specific product we had problems with as it tears more easily.

After seeing your many installs, I wish I lived in CA. With that being said, can you recommend a shop in Colorado Springs or in Denver?
