Cabin Air Filter DIY
#1
There are two air filters for the cabin. One is easily accessible from the frunk the other is behind the glovebox towards the center of the vehicle. It is accessible from beneath and behind the glove box.
First, get cold beer- I missed this step and regret it and get flashlight.
Second remove a thin rubbery covering behind and in back of glovebox. Turn on flashlight. I initially forgot to do this
Third remove two plastic screws and pull down rubbery covering it is attached towards center of no need to remove it
Fourth pull down plastic door towards center of car it is hinged
Fifth squeeze and pull down filter and note which way arrow on filter end is pointing indicates air flow. The carpet is in the way, just muscle it back and pull filter down
Sixth marvel how dirty filter is
Seventh squeeze filter back while you shove it back up and close hinged door
Eight put rubbery covering and screws back. You can tighten the screws by hand.
Ninth drink beer.

Suncoast Porsche. The filters are part of the 20,000 mile kit. Includes the air filters for the cabin, oil filter, filter gasket, oil drain pan washer, summer window washer concentrate, and two wiper blade refills. The filters were sourced from Germany and took a little while. All told just less than $200 for everything.

Figured it's time to refresh this thread. I forgot how to do it and searched and found it Got the filters from Pelican. Just 12000 miles and they were dirty. Pelican was cheaper than Porsche (shock) and fast shipped from California to pa.

Wow! They've really trapped some dirt/dust! Interesting to see that, thanks for posting the pic and choosing Pelican!

Thanks for the DIY, OP! I just changed both my filters today in about 20 minutes. I am breathing better already. The filter in the trunk was ridiculously filthy. I plan to change that at double the interval from here on out.

991 has three plastic screws holding interior cabin filter.
Note, there are three plastic screws, not two holding the foam cover. The third one is closest forward of the car and needs to be removed with a short screwdriver. No issue with 9th step.
