Laser Jammers - Which One?

Laser Jammers - Which One?
Thinking of installing laser jammer. Which one is everyone using and which is considered the best? Bllinder, K40, Escort, other? It seems lasers are the weapon of choice over radar nowadays.

Late last year when I was researching this same thing I found that Laser Interceptor was the best.

Have had Escort (part of 9500ci package) and Blinder (old and new version). None of the 3 has ever let me down. Escort and Blinder are good products, can not say from my experience that one is better than the other...

The LI went off, told me what type of laser gun the LE used. Bottom line, the gun was jammed, and they guy behind me got pulled over.
It has been more than 2 years since I researched the topic, but the other laser products discussed are not jammers, they are detectors. With detectors, if they go off it is too late. Radar will give you time (unless instant on) but laser must jam the gun to work
The other times, I saw the officer looking at his gun, and seeing jtg.
Unfortunately, our great state of Texas is becoming more and more like California: The Legislature passed laws making jammers illegal. However, to enforce the law, PD must have the newest technology, which will read out "countermeasures." Buying all new guns is expensive, so hopefully it will be a while before becoming more totalitarian.

All the products mentioned by the OP are well jammers/shifters that will defeat laser guns. The only problem is that you will find many opinions on the net saying that one product is fantastic and another is just cr@p.
I disregarded these reviews and got an Escort 9500ci when I wanted something nicely integrated to the car, and a Blinder m27, then HP 905 for other cars.
All 3 jammers have been 'gunned' multiple times by LEO and I never got a ticket.

Thanks all for replies. I will look into LI and Blinder and talk to some installers. Like you said Serge, the reviews on the internet can be suspect as you just don't know who is authoring them -- that is why this forum is so great - getting reviews from people who have used them.

I still have a Lidatek I purchased in 2003 which I have transferred to one of my other cars and it works like a charm. Has saved me numerous times in both cars I've had it in. Unfortunately, I believe the company no longer exists and I have been using the Laser Interceptor on my other cars with good results so far.

Take a look at the new Passport Max with a Z4 shifter. In tests it blew away their own top-of-the-line CI product and doesn't require all the finicky installation. Plus the new OLED display is better looking to boot. I ordered one to replace a 9500ix which works with my Live cord and Z4 setup. My Live account has saved me from the CHP so many times already ( they don't use radar for the most part in SoCal)

No one has since it doesn't ship till the end of the month. But the reviews from independent Beta testers have raved about it. As far as the Z4, I have heard bad things about everything on the internet...including the 991-911...just go over to the 997 forum.

Do you have the 9500ci currently installed in the 991? If yes, how involved is it? I have the valentine one, but as others already mentioned... if it chirps - you get a ticket when the trooper uses the laser.

I have the radar portion of the 9500ci installed in my 991. Using Laser Interceptor for laser shifting. I had mine installed by a professional no would not be able to do it myself. Especially when I wanted the display mounted in the steering column. Pic attached.

Nice setup Kev. Question - does that steering column mount interfere with your looking at the dials at all or bother you in any way?
#15
Not at all. I actually asked my installer to fabricate the column display as I didn't want it in the mirror or have the display mounted somewhere where i would have to look down to see it. I like to be able to look at the instrument cluster and see everything including the any radar threats that are out there.
